Eternal Guardian's interface grew the way most projects do: one system at a time. Health here, hunger there, each widget built at a different moment, scattered across the screen. It worked — but on a wide display, checking your vitals meant dragging your eyes to distant corners while a dungeon full of dangers waited in the middle.

This update replaces all of it with a single forged medallion, centered where your attention already lives.

The design tells the survival loop by itself. At the heart of the plaque sits your health. Flanking it, two ornamental bars — golden satiety and blue hydration — flow toward it, because that's exactly how the mechanics work: neglect your hunger or thirst long enough, and your health starts to drain. On each side, three small spheres show the food and water rations you're carrying, lighting up as you gather and dimming as you consume. One glance, one read, everything you need.

The medallion also speaks up only when it matters. When hunger or thirst turns critical, its icon begins to pulse. When your health drops dangerously low, the heart itself beats faster — and flashes when you take a hit. No pop-ups, no clutter: the plaque simply becomes urgent when your situation is.

Sharp-eyed readers will notice the thermal scale resting under the plaque, waiting between a snowflake and a sun. That's the next survival system in design right now — and alongside it, we're beginning full gamepad adaptation for Xbox and PlayStation controllers.

More on that soon. Thanks for following Eternal Guardian.
