Hey everyone,
Has it really been a whole month since we launched Entropy into Early Access? Huh! Well, I just wanted to take a beat to let you know what we've got planned for Entropy in the months ahead.
Firstly, thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has bought the game and trudged / limped / suffered their way through the Gloaming Isles. While your characters may have been having a terrible time, it really seems like players are having a great one - and we're super humbled by the positive reception the game has gotten.
Though of course, being an Early Access title, we're also paying close attention to your more critical feedback, too! That's why the next update is gonna focus on balancing the experience - both with tweaks and brand new content - as well as throwing in a new quest, too. Here's a breakdown of what's coming very soon
Prosthetics
Similarly, we know it can be brutal for a character to die in combat and lose an arm. Losing an arm sucks! So, with this update we're adding some prosthetic weapons that means you can stick a rusty spike, or a gun, onto that bandaged stump. It will never be quite as good as having all your digits back, but it also means your characters can still prove useful even after they've seen some tough times.
Skob
Yes, we heard you loud and clear: the game needs more drugs Skob.
Okay, maybe that wasn't a common critique. But what we were hearing was that the game felt too random. As such, we've made a number of balance changes to reduce crazy damage spikes for both players and enemies - meaning your mercs will be less likely to die to a crazy critical hit. But to counter this, we're also adding in drugs that will allow you to purposely boost your damage output for a few turns, or even guarantee your next action will be 100% successful - provided you're okay with the hangover that follows...
Questline
Finally, the game will add a brand new questline featuring a bandit camp and a strangely familiar captain.
Of course, this upcoming update is just changing things in the Gloaming Isles, but beyond that we're going to introduce you to a brand new gameplay area: The Continent.
The Continent is a stark tonal change to what you're used to. As it turns out, the Gloaming Isles has had it pretty good in this postapocalyptic hellscape. What's coming just over the horizon is, for want of a better phrase, pretty damn bleak.
And even further afield? We'll be taking you to The Last Redoubt - a solitary bastion of human defiance in the blasted wasteland that is The Continent. Expect a whole new town to explore, brimming with characters and quests.
And with that, I'll leave it there; but once again, just let me thank each and every one of you for your interest in our strange lil' RPG. It really means a lot to the whole development team, so thanks very much for playing!
