Hello, Gastronauts! 👽

Just wanted to drop in with a little update on how things are going behind the scenes.

Demo is coming along

We've been heads-down working on the demo, and right now most of our time is going into reworking the UI. Honestly, the old one was getting on our nerves a bit, so we're redoing it from the ground up to feel cleaner and more in line with the vibe of the game.

Here's a peek at one of the new screens:

(This isn't the final version, and there are placeholder images too :D)

Something kind of wild happened

Not the final version yet — and yes, some of those are still placeholder images! 😅
A little while back we posted our trailer on the Dave the Diver subreddit, not really knowing what to expect. The response was honestly way better than we hoped. Tons of kind comments, people getting genuinely excited about it, asking when they can play.

That meant a lot to us, because when we first started building Ginga Cantina, the pitch we kept telling each other was basically "what if Dave the Diver and Star Wars had a kid?" Dave was the heart of it — that perfect mix of action and management, the warmth, the rhythm of running your own little place. So having actual Dave fans rally around our trailer felt pretty surreal, in the best way.

Around the same time, our trailer got picked up by the Indie Game Hub channel on YouTube too, and between all of that, we just passed 700 wishlists.

Seriously, thank you. Every wishlist, every comment, every share — it all helps more than you'd think, especially for a tiny two-person team like us.

What's next

We're aiming to have the demo ready by the end of July. It's tight, but we'll get there. Fingers crossed 🤞

If you haven't yet, hit that wishlist button so you don't miss it when the demo drops.

See you out there,
Deniz & Alp
