Our countdown to launch continues - just 5 days to go!
Dicevaders arrives on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on September 29th, and today we’re revisiting a Commander many of you will already recognize from our latest demo.
If you haven’t played her yet, there’s still time to try her in the Steam demo before launch!
Introducing The Duchess
The Duchess is all about expanding the board and building a powerful army of Chess units.
Her starter perk is The Art Of War, which allows you to build up to the fourth row and have access to her unique chess units. Whenever you spawn a non-Token unit, it’ll gain a shield and give +10 XP to the artifact in its column.
Here is a breakdown of the perks and artifacts available with The Duchess:
En Passant (Legendary artifact): When you destroy a non-Token unit, get +1 Chrono and +2 Mini-Dice.
Stone Chisel (Uncommon artifact): When this artifact is gained and when it levels up, a Pawn will spawn on a random tile and gain +20 STR. When a new Pawn spawns, it’ll give all units +10 STR for each Pawn on the grid.
Usurper (Perk): Capturing and sacrificing grants +50% STR.
Blitz Armor (Legendary artifact): When you score a unit with a Shield, break its Shield to gain +1 Budge and +10 Mult.
Fortress (Rare artifact): When you spawn a non-Token unit, build a random tile and give +30 STR to a random unit.
Tableflipper (Perk): When your turn begins, trigger the “On Bought” or “On Spawn” abilities of all units in the bottom row.
