Hey there... insects? Future gods?
We haven’t actually agreed on a name for you people yet. Feels like an oversight. Prove that you are more creative than us in the comments; the most ridiculous suggestion (crowned by our team) wins and will be used in future updates.
Meet the Newest Minion
This devlog is presented to you by ✨ Jimothy ✨

If you haven’t seen the Seattle-based trash panda that has become the internet’s most recent beloved critter, you are in for a treat. TL;DR: this racoon has a shortened spine and a mother that did not abandon him as a cub despite that being typical for the species. Family goals.

Even after too many brands started exploiting the story for content, the message at its core seems to resonate with many internet dwellers: you don’t have to be perfect to be loved. Or was it that survival doesn’t have to be only for the fittest, if we band together as a community? Who cares, you didn’t come here for a moral lesson, you want to see new gameplay.

In dedication to Jimothy, and a few other games that had the same idea, our artist brought roly-poly Jimothy to life in the DeeSicks pixelart style you all have come to love.

Please take this new summon as a token of apology for going silent on you. Virality aside, a not-so-standard character like Jimothy just felt right at home in the world of DeeSicks.
What’s Next?
For one, more devlogs like this one. We plan to introduce our characters and share the thoughts that went into designing them, spill the beans on how we make DeeSicks feel juicy in regards of audio and VFX, and much more.
Do you already have a specific topic in mind you would like to see us cover? Let us know below or on the Community Discord.
Now, onto the sneak peak we lured you with today: meet the Shopkeeper, who will trade your cosmic bananas for more relics and spells. If you are feeling risky, you could also help him move dead stock by accepting a free boon, which just so happens to be attached to an equally free curse.

Gamescom, anyone?
In case any of you are also from Germany or traveling for the occasion, you can find us with DeeSicks and other ByteRockers’ Games projects in Hall 10.2 at Booth E020g–D021g. Just look out for the giant castle full of indie games, you can’t really miss it 🏰
