Dear conductors,
The mine cave beside the volcano is now open! Bring a pickaxe and explore underground caverns of crystal and lava for minerals, treasure, and a new drink recipe. Adventures at sea are more rewarding too: defeating the Giant Octopus now grants extra precious accessories and a Fish King Lure!
New helpers are joining your onboard automation: the Automatic Fertilizer tends growing crops. The new Large Electric Freezer provides more frozen food storage.
The inventory now supports custom split quantities, with further controller and Steam Deck improvements. We have also improved electric engine consumption, generator status messages, building connections, and movement between carriages, alongside multiplayer syncing, inventory recovery, and save-loading fixes.
Here are the full update notes.
⛏️ New exploration: the volcanic mine cave opens!
The mine cave beside the volcano is open, with new underground exploration awaiting you!
Bring your pickaxe into caverns of crystal and lava, collecting minerals and treasure chests to bring more building materials home.
💎 Underground mining
Inside the cave, you can gather:
Iron Ore
Copper Ore
Gold Ore
Diamond Ore
Gathering nodes in the cave spawn only minerals, not ordinary stone, helping you focus on the ores you need.
🎁 Mine cave treasure chests
Each time you open a mine cave chest, you receive:
Gold Ingots: 5–10
Copper Ingots: 5–10
Iron Ingots: 5–10
If your current save has not unlocked “Blazing Lava”, you can also obtain this drink recipe.
⏳ Chest respawning
After claiming the rewards, the chest can be opened again once the current save has accumulated 5 hours of active play.
The timer pauses while offline.
It resumes when you continue playing that save.
Respawn progress is shared by the room.
📍 Map guidance to the entrance
Added a “Mine Entrance” circle marker and pickaxe icon to the map, making it easier to find and revisit the cave.
🪨 Cave entrance and scenery details
Refined some rock details and the connection between the entrance and surrounding terrain for a more natural transition into the cave.
🌿 New automation: Automatic Fertilizer
Your onboard crops have a new helper!
Added the Automatic Fertilizer, with its crafting blueprint in tier-four technology.
When powered, it automatically fertilizes growing crops in the same carriage, reducing individual checks and manual refills.
A whole fertilizer pack is consumed only when the target has enough remaining fertilizer capacity to accept its full effect, avoiding unnecessary waste.
The item icons for the Automatic Seeder, Automatic Feeder, and Automatic Fertilizer have also been updated for easier identification.
❄️ New storage: Large Electric Freezer
Added the Large Electric Freezer, providing more frozen storage space aboard your train.
Food inside does not spoil while it is powered.
More food is displayed inside as the stored quantity increases. A sliding glass lid also makes its contents easier to see.
📦 Custom stack-splitting quantities in the inventory
You can now freely choose how many items to move!
Open an item's details and adjust the quantity by:
Dragging the quantity slider.
Clicking the plus and minus buttons.
Typing a number directly with the keyboard.
**Half** and **All** shortcuts are also available. All is selected by default each time you open the details.
After choosing a quantity, drag the item icon on the right into the destination slot to move that amount.
Distribute supplies, organize materials, or put only part of your stock into a machine with greater flexibility.
🌊 New offshore region separates the sea monster arena
The waters where you fight the octopus are now designated an offshore region.
Hostile creatures such as wolves and boars no longer spawn there, keeping out land enemies that do not fit the setting so you can focus on the sea battle.
🍰 New shop Surprise item: Honey Berry Cake recipe
The Honey Berry Cake recipe was previously too rare, so we have added a way to buy it.
The recipe can now appear among the shop's Surprise items and be purchased with Oxygen Coins.
Check the Surprise section when passing a shop to add this dessert to your recipe collection.
🐙 More loot from the Giant Octopus!
Taking on the Giant Octopus now brings more rewards!
Existing defeat rewards are retained. Each defeat additionally grants:
Ancient Precious Pendant or Ancient Precious Ring ×1, each with a 50% chance.
Fish King Lure ×1.
These extra rewards are granted after every defeat, making repeat challenges more rewarding.
🐣 Future plan: a baby octopus you can raise
We plan to add a chance to obtain a baby octopus you can raise to the octopus's loot in the future.
**This is a future plan and is not included in this update.** We will introduce this little sea companion when it is ready.
🌱 Powered preservation added to the Automatic Seeder
The Automatic Seeder now preserves items in the same way as the Automatic Feeder.
While switched on and powered, items inside do not spoil.
Normal spoilage resumes when switched off or without power.
Keep it powered to store items for replanting with greater peace of mind.
🌳 Tree Planter planting rules corrected
Tree Planters now accept only saplings. Automatic Seeders no longer plant ordinary crops in them.
Without available saplings, the planter stays empty until planting becomes possible.
Crops already planted are retained and will not be removed by this change.
🍲 Recipe details controls improved
Adjusted the details layout, moving the quick-fill button to the upper right so it is not obscured.
Also improved display at different resolutions, allowing normal viewing and interaction without first dragging the recipe.
After viewing, click a blank area outside the details to close them and continue browsing.
🖱️ More reliable double-click deposits and withdrawals
Fixed occasional unresponsive double-clicks when depositing or withdrawing items.
Improved reliability during continuous sorting and quick transfers, reducing repeated clicks between inventory and containers.
🎮 Controller hotbar and common button changes
Further improved default controller and Steam Deck controls to reduce conflicts between common actions.
The changes are:
**Hotbar:** default left/right switching returns to LB/RB.
Interaction wheel: moved to D-pad Left.
Reload, select ammunition, and rotate placement: moved to D-pad Right.
The corresponding prompts have been updated to match the new defaults.
🕹️ New controller stick sensitivity setting
Added controller stick sensitivity to the Controls page in settings.
Adjust it between 0.5–4×.
The default remains 1×.
Changes apply immediately and are saved automatically.
Only shown when a controller is connected or on Steam Deck.
Choose a sensitivity that suits looking around, aiming, and turning.
➡️ Controller crafting menu navigation fixed
Fixed selection sometimes getting stuck on the second or fourth item when moving right in the crafting menu.
You can now browse rightward more smoothly, with fewer stalls and repeated inputs.
📤 New controller bulk transfer for matching items
With a chest or supported machine open, hold the left stick button L3 for about 0.4 seconds to transfer items of the same type.
Tapping L3 still quickly transfers a single stack, letting you choose between single-stack and bulk transfers.
Organizing gathered materials and restocking equipment is easier with a controller.
🪵 Gathering multipliers now apply to ground pickups
The gathering multiplier now also applies to these ground resources:
Wood
Stone
Iron Ore Fragments
Copper Ore Fragments
Gold Ore Fragments
Selecting 2× or 5× increases pickup quantities accordingly, correctly applying the world's gathering multiplier along your route.
🏖️ Sand digging now correctly applies gathering multipliers
Fixed sand digging quantities ignoring the gathering multiplier.
Digging sand now grants the quantity for the selected multiplier, consistent with other eligible basic resources.
⚡ Electric engines save power under speed limits
Improved electric engine power consumption.
With sufficient propulsion, running under a speed limit automatically reduces power consumption, saving energy on trains with many engines running at lower speeds.
Engine descriptions and speed-limit tips have been updated to explain the relationship between speed and consumption.
🔋 Generator status messages fixed
Fixed various generators incorrectly showing **“Waiting for hand-crank generation”**.
Appropriate status messages now reflect each machine's fuel and power conditions, reducing confusion.
✋ Hand-Crank Generator values and full-charge message improved
The Hand-Crank Generator now correctly displays:
Power generated per action.
Bonuses from modules.
It shows “Fully charged” when full, making its status clear.
🔌 More accurate full-charge messages for generators
Corrected full-charge messages so a full device does not incorrectly suggest the entire power grid has no remaining demand.
You can now understand the device's current operation more accurately.
🔥 Fuel-burning generators gain consumption warnings
Thermal Generators and Nuclear Reactors now clearly warn you if they keep consuming fuel after reaching full charge.
This helps you check their operation and manage equipment and fuel as needed.
🔋 Battery recharge messages show actual amounts
Battery recharge messages now display the actual charge added, matching the current recharge.
🌬️ Windmill description expanded
The Windmill description now states that it can generate power while the train is stopped.
Also fixed unusual line breaks in some translations for clearer, complete descriptions.
☢️ Uranium deposit size distribution adjusted
Uranium deposit sizes are now distributed as follows:
Large Uranium Deposits: 50%
Small Uranium Deposits: 50%
Fixed only large deposits appearing, so both sizes now follow these proportions.
🚧 Octopus broken-bridge branch and gates improved
You can now turn onto the broken-bridge branch leading to the octopus arena even before repairs.
Trains approaching unopened gates are now properly stopped:
High speed cannot force a train through.
A front plow cannot break the gate open.
Collisions provide vibration feedback.
After stopping, you can reverse out and return with repair materials.
Once repairs are complete, both gates open together. The broken-bridge gap's appearance and the existing repair-progress saving method are retained.
🛤️ Branch direction and map display improved
Branches now split naturally to the right from the main route instead of first shifting left and crossing back.
Rails, sleepers, travel collision, and the entrance bridge deck have been adjusted together for consistent appearance and movement.
The minimap follows the updated track shape, making the branch direction easier to judge.
🗼 Timed respawning for lighthouse chests
After being claimed, lighthouse chests reappear after 5 hours of accumulated play on the current save.
Timer rules:
Unaffected by the game-time multiplier.
Pauses when you exit the game.
Resumes when you continue that save.
Check the chest again on future visits to the lighthouse.
🐺 Wolf pursuit speed fixed
Fixed abnormally slow pursuit, increasing wolves' running and starting speeds for smoother close-range chases.
Watch your distance and be ready to react when encountering wolves outdoors.
🗡️ Slightly faster machete swings
Slightly increased machete swing speed and shortened the delay between consecutive attacks.
Repeated slashes have a tighter rhythm for smoother melee combat.
🐟 Improved first-person manta ray display
Adjusted these aspects of holding a manta ray in first person:
Display angle
Display size
Grip position
It sits less close to the camera and obstructs less of your view for a more natural presentation.
🥚 Multiplayer dropped and placed items falling through the ground fixed
Fixed items such as Easter Eggs and Golden Eggs falling through the ground and disappearing when dropped, or other items being placed, far from the host in multiplayer.
Improved landing and placement stability at long distances to reduce accidental item loss.
🚀 Multiplayer rocket launch ghost fixed
Fixed other players still seeing an unremovable rocket at its original position after launch.
Rocket launch results now match across players, reducing leftover ghost images at the launch site.
🧱 Floor, wall, and placement display fixes
Fixed floors and walls occasionally shrinking, and abnormal display of some placed items.
Improved multiplayer building visuals for more stable construction results.
🚶 Smoother movement between carriages
Improved walking across carriage connections so characters cross low seams more smoothly.
In particular, reduced feet getting stuck while walking slowly or crouching, removing the need to jump across these seams.
🛏️ Sleeping in a bed from a chair fixed
Fixed characters remaining lying on a chair after choosing to sleep in a bed while seated.
Also fixed abnormal gravity after waking that this action could cause, making sitting, sleeping, and waking transitions more stable.
🧱 Better seams between stacked walls
Improved seams when stacking walls directly upward, completing connections between half walls, door walls, and window walls.
Seams will:
Match the material of the wall below.
Match the color of the wall below.
Fit naturally to the actual gap.
Multi-level walls and mixed wall combinations now look more consistent.
🏗️ More structures support building directly upward
You can now extend more structures directly upward by aiming at them, reducing intermediate building steps.
Also improved gaps between side walls and other structures, matching the lower structure's material and color.
Corrected placement directions in some mixed structure combinations for easier building.
🏠 Stronger building save protection
Strengthened building progress protection to prevent completed construction from being incorrectly overwritten and lost during abnormal loading.
Also improved backup recovery for damaged saves to protect your train-building work.
🎒 Stronger inventory recovery and cloud-sync protection
Fixed inventory loss or rollback in some cases after rejoining, and improved save recovery and cloud-sync protection.
Also fixed:
Old items sometimes reappearing after emptying the inventory.
Incorrect reading of character items when entering another player's save.
These changes reduce inventory problems when continuing or joining a friend's world.
🌉 Loading stuck at 88% near the Deep-Sea Bridge fixed
Fixed loading sometimes getting stuck at 88% after saving near the far end of the Deep-Sea Bridge.
After updating, retry your existing save directly. There is no need to start over.
💾 Improved loading and backup protection in complex areas
Improved loading stability in complex areas and strengthened autosave and backup protection during abnormal loading.
This reduces the effect of loading errors on existing progress, making continued exploration and save recovery more reliable.
