Dear conductors,
This update brings new discoveries: ride the zipline to the lighthouse's top floor, find its glowing treasure chest, and collect firearms, ammo, and special recipes! Arrows lodged in the ground or scenery can now be recovered within a time limit, giving each arrow another chance to be useful.
We have also added Streamer Mode, improved Tier 3 Cooking Stations, junction prompts, controller and Steam Deck controls, and refreshed several building models. Other fixes address restoring progress when joining friends after changing computers, multiplayer notices, and everyday interactions.
Here are the full update details.
📢 Lighthouse exploration: head upstairs for new rewards
An exploration reward awaits conductors on the lighthouse's top floor.
**Zipline both ways:** Interact with the lighthouse zipline to reach the top floor or return to the lower level.
**Exclusive glowing chest:** A new nautical chest awaits upstairs, with a teal metal shell, brass trim, and warm golden light shining from its lighthouse lens and seams.
**Exploration rewards:** Open it to receive Makeshift Long Musket ×1 and Musket Ammo ×20.
**Special recipes:** If still locked, you can also receive Moussaka Recipe ×1 and Mirage Drink Recipe ×1. Recipes already unlocked are not awarded again.
Remember to take a look next time you pass a lighthouse!
🏹 Arrow recovery added
Missed shots now have a chance to be reclaimed.
Arrows fired by players into the ground or scenery objects can be recovered with the interact key within 60 seconds of impact.
Aiming at an arrow shows its type. Recovering it returns one arrow of that type.
Enemy-fired black arrows and arrows that hit enemies, players, or animals cannot be recovered.
💾 Progress restoration after changing computers
Fixed character, backpack, quest, and ability progress sometimes failing to restore when joining a friend's session directly after switching computers.
If cloud save restoration fails, the game now stops joining and prompts you to retry, protecting existing progress.
🍳 Tier 3 Cooking Station: easier loading, three independent pots
Adding ingredients at the Tier 3 Cooking Station no longer requires manual pot selection. The old pot-selection and quick-transfer prompts have been removed.
**Quick recipe loading:** Searches for an empty pot from top to bottom, skipping pots with ingredients. If none is empty, nothing is added or consumed.
**Quick transfer:** Fills pots that are not cooking, from top to bottom.
**Independent controls:** Each of the three pots can still start or stop separately. Once one starts cooking, you can load recipes into other empty pots.
Processing countdown synchronization fix
Fixed incorrect remaining-time displays on electric furnaces, electric grills, and cooking stations with Speed Modules installed.
After installing or removing a module, the countdown updates to the current processing speed, while existing progress is preserved.
🚦 Junction prompts and train routing improved
Your train's position and direction are now clearer at junctions.
Prompts update automatically when reversing or moving forward through a junction to show arrival, a missed junction, or passage. They disappear after moving onward or away from the junction.
At a junction, the map shows the current route, helping you see which track the train will follow.
Fixed some junctions near the volcano preventing reverse turns onto the track toward the green area, even with the correct direction selected.
🎮 Controller and Steam Deck improvements
Further improvements to inventory organization, item switching, and control instructions make everyday tasks easier.
**Inventory dragging:** Fixed clicks sometimes failing to start dragging, preventing repeated pickups or misplaced items when mixing trackpad and controller input.
**Clearer instructions:** Added button illustrations and category cards to help you find controls.
**Contextual quick reference:** Controller tips appear only with a connected controller or on Steam Deck, and are hidden for keyboard-and-mouse-only players.
**Held-item switching:** Fixed D-pad left/right failing to switch held items with the backpack closed. Directional navigation inside the backpack still works normally.
🤝 Multiplayer stability and feedback
Improved joining notifications and fixed multiplayer display and interaction issues.
**Clearer failure reasons:** Some connection errors now explain the cause and troubleshooting steps more clearly.
**Earlier password checks:** Incorrect-password warnings appear sooner.
**Host notifications:** When a player cannot join, the host also gets a notice in chat to help both sides communicate.
**Fewer repeats:** Identical notices no longer repeatedly flood the screen.
**Durability display:** Fixed inaccurate durability on some multiplayer components that made repair decisions difficult.
**Hand-crank generator feedback:** Restored missing cranking feedback for non-host players.
🎥 Streamer Mode added
Enable **“Streamer Mode”** in settings to hide teammates' names and chat while streaming or recording.
Teammates in the current session appear as **“Player A”, “Player B”** and similar aliases.
Chat is hidden, but you can still send messages.
Enabling it clears existing chat history.
After disabling it, messages hidden during that time are not replayed.
🌱 Planting, water collection, and climbing
Wooden planter fix
Fixed planting sometimes failing in wooden planters and newly planted seeds returning unexpectedly to the backpack. Improved planting previews when switching seeds.
Rain collector adjustment
Removed the restriction preventing water collection under overhead obstructions, allowing more flexible placement.
Jumping from ladder tops
Fixed pressing Space at a ladder top sending you backward and falling instead of forward, making slightly higher platforms easier to reach.
🏡 Refreshed building visuals
Updated several stone walls and wooden floors for a more cohesive home aboard your train.
**Stone walls:** Improved triangular, sloped, faceted, and other stone wall models with clearer stone textures and richer structural detail.
**Wooden floors:** Wooden floors and triangular wooden floors have new plank visuals for a consistent style.
Existing buildings' corresponding stone appearances update automatically, without rebuilding. Stone buildings retain their functionality, construction costs, and stats.
