I’m excited to share a huge batch of new features, improvements, and additions that have just landed in Forager’s Finds.
This demo update brings the world to life in a whole new way — from sunsets over the forest to cosy campsites to explore at night.
A lot of these changes have been requested by the players - so thank you.
Day & Night Cycle
You’ll now experience a full day–night cycle as you explore — golden-hour glows, late-evening ambience, and deeper, moodier nights. (Th gif below is a time-lapse, not the actual speed of the day/night cycle!)
Night-Time Foraging (with a Head Torch!)
The night is dark...unless you’ve purchased your trusty Head Torch from the shop.
It gives you a warm, circular glow of light that makes night-time foraging atmospheric, beautiful, and just a little bit mysterious.
New Item: Binoculars
Want to scout rare mushrooms from afar?
You can now buy Binoculars in the shop — perfect for spotting shimmer glows in the distance!
A New Campsite Base
As night falls, your campsite springs to life with lanterns, warm lighting, and a cosy little base of operations. Camping Gear can be bought in the shop.
Display Table for Your Favourite Finds
You can now place your favourite mushrooms or rare discoveries on your Display Table back at the campsite.
Show off the best of your haul, build a little collection, and let your campsite feel more like home.
New Shop Items
The shop has been refreshed with new goodies to help you forage smarter and explore deeper. More items will arrive before the demo release.
Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements
Lots of under-the-hood work too:
General optimisation
Smoother framerates
Cleanup of collision issues
Fixes to mushroom spawning & satchel behaviour
Improved lighting and world loading
The game should feel noticeably smoother and more stable/
If you haven’t already, please wishlist the game — it genuinely helps. ❤️
More news soon!
