fixed a lot of bugs
added some lacking states in modern scenarios
fixed stats jumping
fixed unlimited cities bug and save corruption (they were related, unfortunately the corrupted saves won't be recoverable)
added option to turn off lag reduction system
fixed most of misplaced or missing cities, mainly in Europe, added a range of cities names
fixed pockets fighting
replaced military regions map with a new one with much smaller regions, adjusted game mechanics to the new map
changed the way fortifications work – now they should be more realistic and useful
added option to withdraw a fleet from battle – by selecting it in the battle and clicking anywhere it moves to its former position. If enemy ships are in the former position of the fleet, there is no way to withdraw it again
upgraded army widgets – now they show amount of soldiers of each type and current army targets
added several new scenarios: 590 BCE, 270, 1100, 1300, 1330, 1775, 1800, 1914, 1920, 2000
AI will now ask for peace and may end war without capitulation of one side
improved pathfinding
added barbarians – barbarians spawn in sectors without controllers. Entering sector with barbarians will require fight. Destroyed barbarians start to regenerate after some time. Important: divisions will no longer regenerate in no man's land and barbarians may attack your territory! If you don't destroy barbarian forces in the region you may lose it!
Added some historical regions and rivers
increased max amount of loans and decreased their negative effects
implemented a range of minor general improvements
added new options to customize scenarios, although they are not avalaible in the editor yet:
since now typing ''WAR'' int diplomacy.txt file and stating two nations tags (attacker and the attacked one) will start war between two nations. Units will be automatically allocated to the frontline. Moreover typing ''REBEL'' or ''REBEL_SEP'' will start war between nations as ideological or separatist rebellion, changing the way both side behave in peace conference
added option to start scenario with different controller and owners in some provinces – since now you can put ''owners.png'' file to your scenario folder
added special scenario settings – I am going to describe them separetly, most likely in Steam tutorials
Dear players, I know this update took a lot of time and I guess you expected much more from it, but I had to focus way more on my private life and I had to strictly limit adding new content in favor of fixes this game needed so much. I also didn't expect it to take so much time, I planned to release it about month ago and I am discontent about it.
Moreover I have to announce that I can't go back to the way I worked on this game in past, when updates were more often. I have neglected my private life and my health too much and I have to take more care of it. It doesn't mean that the development of the game is halted – absolutely not. But updates will be released less often.
Beside that, BETA 1.7 is not going to be released soon, because I am planning one more small update for BETA 1.6 – this time I would like to finally add Steam workshop (as usually I cannot promise it, but I'm planning to) and some other minor features I planned to add earlier. Moreover, I have to focus more on advertising the game now, otherwise I may not be able to continue development.
I hope I haven't disappointed you, thank you for your patience and enjoy playing Nations!
