vrOS v1.0.2 Patch Notes
Highlights
First-launch UX polish — dashboard spawns in front of you, accessibility font scaled up, VR Controls collapsed, hide warning added. Plus a hotfix restoring multi-monitor display-capture input.
New Features
- First-time confirmation modal when hiding the dashboard overlay. Shows your current modifier binding (default: right-hand fingergun + double-tap A/X) and gates Hide behind a "Don't show this again" checkbox. New ui.warn_before_hiding_dashboard setting (default on) under OpenVR > UI.
Bug Fixes
- Restored VR controller mouse, keyboard, scroll, and focus input to display-capture overlays. The dispatcher had been gated behind a window-only check that silently dropped every event when the source was a monitor.
- Fixed clicks landing at the wrong screen pixel on non-primary monitors. Display-capture coordinates are monitor-local; the injector now converts them through the correct monitor origin before delivery, so secondary/tertiary monitors receive accurate input.
- Disabled the dashboard hide toggle while the overlay is pinned. Hiding while pinned previously trapped it pinned-but-invisible.
Improvements
- Dashboard now spawns HMD-anchored on first launch — sits in front of your gaze regardless of when the headset comes online. Persisted anchor state still wins on subsequent launches.
- VR Controls foldout defaults to closed on first launch to reduce noise above the overlay list.
- Accessibility font size now defaults to 125% for new users.
Other Changes
- Added a regression test locking playspace toggle defaults (drag, rotate, gravity, vestibular, redirected walking, auto turn, view ratchetting) to off for new users.
