vrOS v0.12.0 Patch Notes
Highlights
openvr frame handling fix + other bugfixes
New Features
- Added HLS stream playback controls for live streams.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed captured window frame handling for OpenVR by copying Windows Graphics Capture frames into stable DX11 textures before VR overlay submit.
- Prevented OpenVR from sampling capture resources immediately after framepool release or resize.
- Reduced noisy controller warnings when SteamVR reports no paired or awake controllers, while keeping warnings for real controller-state failures.
- Corrected FPS hitch and reprojection classification so async-only timing flags and ordinary CPU load do not show false GPU hitch markers.
- Fixed desktop FPS tab frame-timing data so it uses the same VR performance bridge as the VR overlay when VR is active.
- Removed a GPU temperature fallback that could mislabel Ryzen CPU sensors as GPU temperature.
- Registered desktop popout bridge handlers so popout state queries no longer produce missing-handler warnings.
Improvements
- Reduced synchronous UI bridge stalls by keeping Twitch ad schedule reads local, combining VR perf snapshot requests, and caching frame timing snapshots away from the Ultralight UI thread.
- Added a backend-maintained OpenVR frame timing cache with deduped, oldest-to-newest frame ordering and deeper compositor history for high-refresh headsets.
- Hardened GPU temperature telemetry with safer NVML loading, per-sample initialization and shutdown, and shared graphics-layer handling.
- Added regression coverage for stable texture reuse, resize retirement, pixel-copy correctness, reprojection semantics, GPU sensor filtering, and FPS chart rendering.
