The IdleOS playtest is opening this weekend!
After a lot of development and testing I’m ready to start getting IdleOS into the hands of players.
The playtest will be open to everyone who signed up and will go from Friday September 18th at 5pm until Sunday, September 20th at 5pm CST.
What to Expect
IdleOS is a terminal-based idle game where your ultimate goal is to hack various targets for rewards. As targets become more difficult to hack you will need to upgrade your system to become more efficient and powerful.
Run processes to gather resources
Build and combine resources
Crack, match, phish, and hack your way through increasingly difficult targets
Upgrade your system
Decode caches to discover new resources
Build up your capabilities and take on more challenging targets
The goal of this playtest is to see how the game feels with real players and, most importantly, find the things that need improvement.
I Want Your Feedback
If you get access to the playtest, I'd especially like to hear about:
Bugs or anything that doesn't work correctly
Things that are confusing or poorly explained
Processes or systems that feel too slow or too fast
Balance issues
Features you enjoy
Features you don't enjoy
Anything that feels frustrating or tedious
You don't need to write a detailed report. Even a quick message saying "this felt confusing" or "I didn't understand what to do here" is useful.
If you run into a bug, please report it along with whatever you were doing when it happened.
The Discord will be posted within the playtest as the main avenue for feedback.
Thank You!
Thanks to everyone who has wishlisted IdleOS, signed up for the playtest, or followed along with development so far.
I'm excited to finally have people playing it and seeing what you think.
