Hey warriors!
For the next few months, we’re changing how we test new features. Starting this Saturday, February 7, members of our Discord server will get access to experimental builds packed with new mechanics and updates.
We plan to test a new build with our Discord community roughly every 2 weeks. If you already have access to our Alpha, you’ll be able to play them through Steam.
Why (and What to Expect)
Closed Alpha was the first time we saw so many people play Warfactory. It showed us what works (we’re more confident in our vision than ever), what doesn’t (4X was a bit much…), and what needs to change to make Warfactory the best version of itself.
We want to move fast and experiment before our next major playtest. These Discord builds will be rougher around the edges than what you played in Alpha. They’ll include ideas and mechanics that may or may not make it into the final game. We want to try things out, and we want your help shaping them.
What’s in Experimental Build 1
Our first experimental build already looks quite different from what you played in the Alpha. Here's what we’re looking to test:
RTS-style map-wide Fog of War (visuals very work-in-progress)
Revamped map generation and larger scale (~4x larger than Alpha)
Enemies can now destroy buildings
New Lose condition: main building destroyed
Improved resource generation and resource spread across the map
Redesigned unit models
How to Join
Hop onto our Discord server and keep an eye on announcements. We’ll share access details once the build goes live tomorrow.

These builds are meant to be tested by people who played our Alpha but if you signed up and never got around to it, you’re still welcome to join. New to Warfactory? We’re not adding new testers just yet, but feel free to request access and we’ll let you in soon.
Going forward, we’ll share updates on what’s included in the experimental builds on Discord and here on Steam. We can't wait to hear what you think. See you on the factory floor.
