Ahoy, mateys!
It's been two weeks since release, and we are ready to announce the first real content update to the game: Version 1.0.3, which will release tomorrow, May 8th!
Here's what we have to offer:
New Units!
For more detailed information on what the units do, play Anchor's Lament 1.0.3!
Say hello to the Sponge Bunch:
Brain Sponge (Isodictya elastica)
Don't let this guy's appearance frighten you! They're actually very nice, protecting you from harm with a little help from their friends!
Fun fact: Its texture is soft and compressible.
Yellow Tube Sponge (Aplysina fistularis)
Here's a little guy that makes sure you stay healthy.
Fun fact: This species has been observed living in pineapples deep underwater.
Ping Pong Sponge (Chondrocladia)
This guy is absolutely bursting at the seams with energy and he can't wait to share it. What a party animal!
Fun Fact: Chrondocladia is actually a whole family of species. One of these species is Chondrocladia robertballardi, and was crucial in discovering the wreckage of the Titanic in 1985.
Folded Blanket Sponge (Very big)
This is the largest sea sponge ever discovered. Not a species, but one specific sponge. Roughly 12 feet long and 7 feet wide. A gentle giant, slow to wake but much like his other friends excited to help out.
Fun fact: The Folded Blanket Sponge won the second ever Anchor's Lament Community Unit Vote! Don't miss out on any future votes, Join the Discord!

General
Major Changes!
Ink now stacks up to 3.
Units are only stunned when at 3 ink.
Ink, Poison and Block now only trigger once per activation.
Units that used to deal "1 stack, 4 times" now instead deal 4 stacks once.
Crits will still multiply trigger times like before.
Minor Changes
Introduced a daily limit on Doubloons gained from combat wins. The limit is currently 30.
In the future we will add other ways to earn doubloons. Stay tuned!
Inked fishes now get darker the more ink stacks they have (up to a point).
Poisoned fishes now get purpler the more poison stacks they have.
The Smith now only has single effect equipment (Poison Bottle, Quill and Ink, etc.)
The Safe and the Diving Helm can now only be found at The Smith.
Multi-effect equipment can be found in Lost and Found and Wheel of Fortune.
Changes to Units
All units that get buffed based on adjacent unit tags (Axolotl, Sea Turtle, etc.) now get buffed 4/5/6/7.
The Mudskipper now buffs healing by 4/5/6/7.
The Mussel now buffs block by 4/5/6/7.
Changes to Items
Poison Bottle now deals 2 poison.
Quill and Ink now deals 2 ink.
Sea Glass now gives 2 energy.
Fire Gem now deals up to 10 ignite.
Quality of Life / Bug fixes
Pressing SHIFT while hovering over a unit will now show stats from every tier rather than just the next one.
The game will now attempt to reconnect as soon as it detects a lost connection, instead of just on the "Challenger Approaching" screen.
Pressing the "Your position" button on the leaderboard should now scroll to your position rather than the top of the page.
Going to another category in the Customization menu while the Chest preview is open will now close the Chest preview.
Washed Ashore should hopefully always display three items now.
Corrected spelling of Mussel.
