The Calling is coming to ReachConf 2025!
Super exciting news! If you've ever wanted to meet some of the streamers featured in The Calling, you can meet many of them at ReachConf 2025 taking place from Nov 6th - 8th in Florida. There are about a dozen streamers that will be wandering the con floor throughout the event, including:
If you'd like to go to the live event but don't have your tickets yet, go to https://reachconf.org and use the promo code CANDY to get $5 off your ticket price.
Also, we will be debuting for the first time a brand new trailer featuring most of those who will be at the live event! If you're going to be at Reach, be sure to check out the Opening Night Live event where the new trailer will have it's worldwide debut!
Kickstarter coming soon!
On a separate note, for those of you who didn't know, The Calling was created by streamer and solo indie developer BuriedCandy (myself) and while I've had a lot of help from the incredible and amazing streamers featured in the game (and some not... at least not yet), it's largely developed mostly by myself.
As a solo developer who is currently unemployed, I don't have the massive large budgets of the AAA studios who've inspired this game (like Genshin Impact, Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Unreal Tournament, etc), and I've largely been self-funding the development of the game myself.
While I am pushing hard and fast on the development of the game (and a free-to-play game at that) and absolutely have no intentions of ever stopping or abandoning this project, financial support would also be very beneficial to the project to not only help me keep a roof over my head, but also allow me to hire additional development support, animators, artists, admin support, etc to make this game the best game I could possibly make.
With that said, we're launching a Kickstarter to help boost funding and speed up development. As part of this Kickstarter, we're releasing exclusive skins for some of the characters that you won't ever find again once the Kickstarter closes.
The Kickstarter will be launching soon, so if you'd like to get notified when it goes live, click this link and then you can click on the "Follow" button on the campaign page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/buriedcandy/the-calling-1
Thanks again everyone for being interested and supporting this game, and I'm working on getting a super early play test out to you shortly! I'm just waiting on approval from Steam so I can start releasing it to those signed up for the playtest!
