Fractured Realms v0.3.1 - Swift & Secure
A month in the making. This patch has two headline pieces: a brand new Swift Mode for players who want a faster run, and saves rebuilt from the ground up with cloud sync back and, this time, safe. On top of that there is a big Collection Log expansion, the entire in-game Compendium translated into all 12 languages, and a stack of fixes and quality-of-life changes.
Huge thanks, as always, to everyone in the Discord and the reviews who reported bugs and told us where the game felt off. Here is everything.
⚡ Swift Mode!
- A new permanent game mode, chosen when you create a character. Swift runs at roughly 3x pace: actions are about three times faster and combat XP is tripled. It is for players who love the game but want less time spent idle.
- Standard is completely unchanged. Swift is a separate choice, not a change to the game you are already playing.
- The choice is permanent per character and badged everywhere so you can always tell them apart. Swift characters have their own leaderboards, and no content is locked in either mode.
💾 Saves, rebuilt (and cloud is back)
- Saves now live in real files, not browser storage. This is the foundation that makes everything below possible.
- Automatic, safe migration. Your existing characters move themselves across on first launch. There is nothing to do and nothing to lose. The originals are kept as a fallback, so migration can only ever add data, never remove it.
- Rolling local backups. The game keeps recent snapshots of each save, so a character is never one bad write away from gone.
- Crash-safe writes. A crash in the middle of saving can no longer corrupt a character.
- Cloud saves are back, rebuilt on Steam Cloud. Cross-device sync works again: play on one PC, pick up on another, and your characters (including offline progress) come with you. Steam now owns the syncing, so the failure that was causing lost progress and vanishing characters is gone. This has been tested and verified before switching it on.
📖 Collection Log expansion
- Seven new tabs: Maps, Dungeons, Raids, Outposts, Seals, Skills to 99, and Prestige. That is over a hundred new things to track and complete.
- Dungeons and Raids now list every mob and boss per instance, plus a "Full Clear" entry, and tick off as you kill them. Dungeon and raid kills are now tracked, which they were not before.
- Removed 9 uncraftable "enchant" recipes that could never actually be made, so the log reflects only real, obtainable things.
- All tab and entry icons are painted art now, no more emoji placeholders.
🌍 Localization
- The entire Compendium is now translated in all 12 languages - every skill guide, item page, combat cheat-sheet, offline guide, outpost and instance. It was a little over half English before; now it is complete.
- More menus translate properly too: shop tool, pickaxe and gear names, cartography supplies, bounty tiers and agility course names all now show in your language (several were stuck in English despite having translations). Russian woodcutting log names were corrected to match their trees.
🐛 Fixes
- Offline progression while training. Closing the game with a hard quit while a skill was running used to record nothing, so it paid out zero on return. It now pays out correctly. Verified.
- The XP tracker keeps working past level 99. Instead of a dead "to Lv 99" it now tracks your prestige progress: "To Prestige N", XP per hour, and time to the next rank.
- Hunter's Stew and the hearty meals now show their real cook time and XP.
- Missing item descriptions (such as Raw Beef) no longer show a raw text code in the bag and Compendium.
- Removed a phantom "Shattered Crown +15% XP" bonus that showed for players who had not earned it. It paid nothing, but it should not have been there.
- The Blacksmith outpost description no longer implies a forge or shop it never had.
- Slayer's Edge now appears in the Equipment weapon list and can be equipped.
- Raid and dungeon enemies deal proper damage again. Armour now reduces a percentage of each hit rather than a flat amount, capped, so fully-geared players are a real fight again instead of near-invincible.
🛠️ Quality of Life
- The sidebar skill list has a visible scrollbar so you no longer have to arrow-key your way down it.
- Screen shake can be turned off in Settings (boss, crit and hit shake).
- Click the Equipment Max Hit stat for a full breakdown of where the number comes from.
🔮 Coming Next
- Save Export / Import to files - back a character up to a file, load one back in, and keep more than five if you want. (Built and coming in the next build.)
- Full dungeon and raid loot tables with unique endgame gear.
- More gold sinks and endgame goals.
Thank you for playing, and for the constant feedback that shapes every one of these patches. See you in the realms. o7
