Update v1.3.0 brings 1 new mode: The Daily Challenge, as well as an in-game currency, changes to Modes, Enhanced Rich Presence, and new achievements!

⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻

This update, and all future major updates will first release as a public beta, to make sure there are no bugs or issues. Betas will last a few days and can be accessed via their own branch. Changes marked with (Beta) are changes/fixes made during the Beta.

⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻

The Daily Challenge is a brand new mode with a simple concept: A new global challenge every day, with the aim to beat the target score. Alongside this, all modes now grant the brand new, in-game currency: Dots! Each round gives you a small amount of Dots, and while they can't be used for anything right now, we have plans for them in the future. We've also added Enhanced Rich Presence, which displays your current score and mode to all your friends. Existing modes (Easy and Hard) have now been merged into one Normal mode, with Easy, Normal and Hard difficulties.

Added

Daily Challenge

The Daily Challenge is a new mode. Each day a new global challenge is released, following the same ruleset as Normal Difficulty. To complete the Challenge you must obtain a set amount of score, which is randomized each day.

In-game Currency - Dots

Dots are a new in-game currency which is gained by completing levels. Each game played awards you with a small amount of Dots. Currently, Dots have no real usage, but we plan on making them more useful in later updates.

Enhanced Rich Presence

We've added Steam Enhanced Rich Presence, so your friends can now see what Mode/Difficulty you're playing, and your current score!

New Achievements

We've added 4 new achievements: 3 related to the new Daily Challenge, and one for collecting Dots.

Removals and Changes

Easy and Hard Mode

We've combined Easy and Hard Mode into one mode. Normal Mode now contains all 3 former "normal" modes as difficulties. Challenge, Practice and the new Daily Challenge remain as separate modes.

Dots Granted based on Score

Existing players are awarded an amount of Dots based on their total score upon launching the game with the new update for the first time. Please note: The amount of Dots gained based on existing score has been reduced by 5% compared to regular Dots gain. The Dot Collector achievement may require completing one game to be granted.
