Hello, this is the Embers of the Uncrowned development team.
In this Dev Log, we'll introduce the third class that will accompany you on your journey:
Stormbringer.
Design Objective: Vanguard Mage
The Stormbringer's development began with a single vision: a presence that dominates the battlefield through the raw force of nature itself.
From there, we wanted to push further and break away from the static mage archetype found in most games. Instead of a caster who hangs back in the rear, we set out to create an aggressive mage who steps into mid-range and brings the fight to the enemy.
Through this approach, we aimed to deliver a dynamic, destructive playstyle — one where you become a living manifestation of nature's most violent phenomena.

Combat Mechanics
The Stormbringer's combat flow and core mechanics are defined by how you wield the dual forces of Wind and Lightning. Your choice of element fundamentally shifts the way the class plays.
Stormbringers who walk the path of wind center their combat around Aeroenergy.
This powerful technique lets you instantly recast skills — chaining crowd-control to pin enemies in place, or rapidly stacking Resonance debuffs to tear them down. The idea behind this design is to reward strategic, intentional play with a real sense of mastery.
The Lightning path, by contrast, revolves around Overload stacks.
The foundation here is to build up Overload through Lightning skills, then detonate that stored energy with powerful finishers for devastating damage. As you grow into this mechanic, precise control over your Overload levels lets you maximize your most formidable spells or unleash a relentless barrage of critical strikes — delivering the visceral thrill of pure, unbridled destruction.
Dual Elements, Unbound Fury
With Lightning and Wind as her core elements, the Stormbringer orchestrates a wide range of combat styles. Through the Trait system, you can commit to one of these paths and refine a playstyle that's your own.
Lightning Element
This build revolves around stacking Overload through multiple Lightning skills, then unleashing that energy with Lightning Volley for an exhilarating rush of overwhelming damage. You'll need to manage a sharp spike in mana consumption — but the sheer destructive power more than justifies the cost.
Another approach is to build up Overload with Lightning skills and detonate it through Blade Storm to maximize your critical hits. This path offers a deeply tactile experience, as basic attacks and skills chain into a seamless rhythm of continuous critical strikes.
Wind Element
By harnessing Aeroenergy, you can rapidly stack Resonance debuffs and detonate them with Sonic Javelin for massive damage. This build delivers a sniper-like experience, especially against powerful bosses.
Another choice is to trap enemies with Wind skills that push and pull them at will, then channel Aeroenergy to ensnare them in a typhoon zone — dominating the field with enhanced attacks.
Design Concept
We embraced the concept of compressing the power of a storm into a single compact orb.
By containing immense natural forces within a small sphere, we wanted to create a striking contrast that brings the Stormbringer's power into sharp focus.

For her attire, we focused on light, flexible fabrics and leather — materials that billow naturally with the wind, accentuating the Stormbringer's dynamic movements.
By adding ornaments like feathers and primal patterns, we moved away from the image of a civilized mage, crafting a figure that feels deeply attuned to nature.
If you're drawn to the overwhelming satisfaction of sweeping across the battlefield with the unbridled power of nature, the Stormbringer is your calling.
We also encourage you to experiment with different builds through the Trait system and shape a combat style that's truly your own.
This concludes our introduction to the three classes featured in this demo.
Each one was designed with the goal of giving you a distinct, unprecedented combat experience, and future classes will be developed in the same spirit.
In the next Dev Log, we will return with an introduction to new content: Eslyn the Companion.
Sincerely,
