Demo update v0.5 has just been released! This is the final demo update before Copperfell's full release, which will be coming out later this year. Hopefully, I'll be able to give you an exact release date soon. While finishing off the main game's content, I've added a bunch of the new features to the demo too. The more playtesting, the better! You will also see more greyed out content in the game UI, in preparation for the full release. As you may have noticed, I've changed the Steam art assets to newer, nicer ones as well.
These are the biggest features included in this update:
Loot Tab
You will now find a loot info tab when clicking on the trophy icon button in the bottom right of the screen. This tab contains a list of all major mobs in the game, and also all unique loot that each mob can drop. You'll be able to track how many of each type of mob you've killed, and your current drop rates for each mob unique loot. The longer you go without getting a unique drop, the better your odds of getting it become. Additionally, you'll be able to see the stats and weaknesses of each mob from within this tab as well.

Sitting
Minecraft just got sittable cushions, and now Copperfell just got sittable stools! You can now sit on the stools you find scattered around most villages. While sitting down, your status bars, including health and stamina, regenerate twice as fast!

Bank Deposit Chest
The house estate bedroom finally has a proper use! You can now build a bank deposit chest in it, which enables you to deposit any items into your bank, but does not allow you to withdraw anything from the bank. Can come in handy if you're using facilities in your house to craft items.

Improved Mouse Controls
The previous update added a new mouse movement setting, enabling you to click anywhere with your mouse to have your player keep walking in that direction. Based on your feedback, I've now added a new continuous option for this setting. If selected, this will have your player continuously follow your mouse, changing directions when necessary without you having to click again each time.
Apart from this, clicking with your mouse on any interactable world object when out of range will now have the player start moving towards it, and as long as there are no obstructions in the path, will have the player automatically engage with the object upon moving close enough.

Other Additions
Other than these main features, here's a list of more additions that come with this update:
- Added a separate UI audio volume slider
- Pressing space while the loot window is open now automatically loots all items
- Added a "deposit all" bank button that can also be triggered with the space key
- There's now a low chance of getting an item when opening crates, chests, drawers etc
- Added stalagmites underground which can be used to safe-spot mobs much more easily
- Gems can now rarely be looted when foraging certain resources
- You can now open the relevant quest journal directly by interacting with a quest starter NPC
- Updated UI in preparation for game full release
Fixes and Improvements
And then, even more fixed and improvements:
- Fixed item charges not saving correctly on gravestones
- Merchants now take item charges into account when buying items
- Improvements to save file security and automatic backup system
- Rebalanced combat values
- Fixed losing money when buying multiple items with not enough inventory space
- Fixed some issues with mob chasing and retaliating
- Slightly increased hardness of most resources
- Improved shadow overlay effect
- Improved some sound effects
- Fixed stamina depleting very quickly if changing movement directions quickly
- Fixed estate built wardrobes not resetting correctly
- Fixed animation sprite issues
- Improvements to quest journal tab
- Fixed incorrect data in skill info panel
- Increased collider size for smaller animals to be closer to their visuals
Full Release
With this final demo update, I hope you can get a bit of a taste of the content that will be waiting for you when Copperfell is fully released, even if just through greyed out UI elements for orders, skill unlock items, quest journal entries, mob loot entries etc for now.
In case you've missed my previous blog posts where I outlined in more detail what the full release will entail, you can expect a big world that is at least 4x bigger than in the demo, filled with new realms, new biomes, many new resources, equipment, and all sorts of items, more quests, orders, more mobs including boss fights, and much more!
I also keep re-iterating that demo save files will be fully compatible with the full release, so you can continue grinding in the demo with ease of mind!
While I still can't give a concrete date for the game release as of yet, it will definitely be later this year! Most of the content is now ready, and now it's mostly time for balancing, bug fixes, finishing touches etc.
Minor v0.5.1 Patch
Grandayy from the future here. I've uploaded a very minor patch to fix a bug that could soft-lock progression in the Crystal Clear quest. All good now! If you've encountered the bug yourself, just update your game and you'll be able to continue progressing through the quest normally.
As always, all feedback is welcome! The Copperfell Discord channel is the best place for that:
