This update features major art asset revisions to create a more cohesive and pleasing visual style for the game.
We’ve also polished many fine details of the gameplay experience.
Lastly, several game-breaking bugs have been fixed to improve runtime stability.
**Experience Improvements:**
- When playing a card while moving on the overworld, your remaining hand will no longer be discarded. This change helps you better plan your path forward.
- Added more healing spots in early-game areas. All bonfires now have their default heal level raised by 1 to ease early survival pressure.
- Simplified some of the Penitent Knight’s talent effects. Added optional talent upgrades as later rewards to smooth out the difficulty curve. (This change only brings modest improvements. Further simplification to the knight’s talents is planned to help new players understand and use them more easily.)
- Replaced the pixel font to boost text readability.
- Revised display logic for buttons across multiple interfaces. Buttons can now be reliably clicked without overlapping or visual glitches.
- Adjusted event weighting for early and mid-game runs, making positive events more common. (Event rewards and enjoyment will continue to be refined in future updates.)
- Removed the mandatory talent pop-up on first encountering monsters, replaced with an optional tip so gameplay flow is not interrupted.
- Tuned number animation for cards outside your hand, reducing visual noise to keep focus on your hand. After random number rolls, unaffected values on hand cards will grey out to highlight active numbers.
- Unlocked 1 additional trinket slot from the start to reduce early gold pressure. Slightly increased gold drops in the early game.
- Revamped the tutorial: it is now more detailed and intuitive to help new players grasp the mechanics.
- Removed redundant pop-up dialogues on character level-up for tighter pacing.
- Added small text labels indicating card type on every card for easier understanding by new players.
- Tiles you have traversed on the overworld will now darken, helping you keep track of your position and see available paths.
**Art Improvements:**
- Revamped the combat scene for the Starting Dream. Hope you enjoy the refreshed battlefield.
- Overhauled title screen visuals: the title screen now dynamically changes based on your progress, using your current combat scene. Loading into combat directly from the title screen is now smoother and more seamless.
- Updated art for most common popups and buttons for consistent styling and better usability. Most buttons now have animations to make clicks feel more responsive.
**Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements:**
- Fixed a bug where certain actions while unlocking new characters would trigger UI errors and freeze the game.
- Corrected many imprecise descriptions and typos in text.
- Fixed a bug causing crashes and visual card glitches under specific conditions.
