We hope that everyone is having a nice spring weekend. Today we have news about the expected price increase, as well as about the upcoming tournaments:
- Price increase: it looks like the full release date of March 11 will hold, thus we wanted to let everyone still waiting to grab their copy of the game know that there are 5 days left until we increase the price by 50%. Also, there will be no launch discount, so if you or your friends wanted to get a good deal on Gremlins, Inc. – now is the best of times. There are just a few regions where the price will grow less than by 50%, and there's even one region where the price will go down (Mexico; since we screwed up when setting the original pricing), but in general, in the few days remaining until the full release, you have the opportunity to get the game cheaper than any other time in the coming year. (we generally are not very keen on making big discounts until at least a year after launch, since we would like the community to grow by people who understand the game rather than those who just grabbed it as a part of some bundle and now would like us to make it easier to win in every session =).
- Tournaments: there was an excellent discussion here on the forums (RU section) following the last 72-hour tournament, which gave our game designer some interesting ideas on improving the rules for the future. This change, however, will not be in force until the first week of April. The next major tournament is currently set for March 25 and will run on the same rules as the last one: 9 sessions with 100% points, rest at 10% points. While this may sound like 'same old' to some of the veterans, please do keep in mind that we will have new players coming in immediately after the full release, and we should allow them some time to get to know the game before we can experiment with the 'winner gets points based on loser's victories' system. However, we're also happy to confirm that starting from this month of March, we're going to start with the monthly prize draw: at the end of each month Top 20 players based on the in-game Ultimate Ladder taken at 11:59PM of the last day of the month will be awarded with special prizes each.
