L. LOCALIZATIONS
- 日本語: most of the content in the game is now localised. The rest will be updated in time for the release in March.
- 中文: most of the content in the game is now localised. The rest will be updated in time for the release in March.
- PORTUGUÊS DO BRASIL: most of the content in the game is now localised. The rest will be updated in time for the release in March.
- ČEŠTINA: most of the content in the game is now localised. The rest will be updated in time for the release in March.
- ITALIANO: most of the content in the game is now localised. The rest will be updated in time for the release in March.
- POLSKI: we encountered a setback on the schedule, and switched to working with a new translator. Sadly, we expect not to have Polish in the game at the time of launch, but rather as an update some time in mid March. Nevertheless, we're fully committed to providing full PL localisation for the game.
A. NEW FEATURES / NEW CONTENT
- Brand-new tutorial: 3 interactive "lessons" that guide new players through the basic mechanics; it's been a long time coming, since writing this tutorial was basically like writing a whole new game to exist in parallel to the existing routines. Tutorial available in EN, ES, CZ, DE & RU for now, we'll update all other languages as soon as we can.
- Updated Jail interface: this has been on our todo list for several months by now, as the previous interface was functional but not really that nice. Now we have new interface for when you get arrested, new jail stats that (hopefully!) make more sense, and jail ranks are represented by proper icons. Also, jail experience is now a regular resource, like money and votes, and you can see it coming and going from players as they earn it/lose it.
- Shuffle animations: you may remember that a while ago, we added the indicators of how many cards are left in the regular card deck as well as in the Misfortune Decks – on the right side, next to your hand? It's helpful as you may (sort of) count down the worst Misfortunes before you break through the risky spot in the middle. Anyways, despite these indicators, some people (including us) forgot to note when the decks were reshuffled. Now there's an animation for each of the reshuffles, with its own sound effect and all. Enjoy.
- Player profiles: it's the beginning of something bigger than just a screen, and we're making the first step on that road (crafting? modding? expendable items? wow!). Now every player has an in-game profile with (a) reputation (see below) (b) their full stats. After a few more updates, you will be able to choose your own character there, and then you'll have your inventory that will deal with how you will be able to make something out of the resources you'll get as you play.
- Player reputation: yes, finally! How it works: after you play with someone who's fun to play with (can be a real bastard, but still someone whom you can wholeheartedly recommend as a worthy opponent to play with!), you can go to their profile and recommend them. Each player can recommend another player only once. I.e. if 10 players recommend another player, that's a maximum of 10 points in total. As this system develops, you will be able to make conscious choices when looking for opponents: players with the highest number of recommendations as a safe bet. While players with a lot of games but not a lot of recommendation points, could be not so nice. We'll see how this develops. The ambition is to allow great players to be known to the whole community.
- The Gremlinopedia is updated: it now lists both Chaos Cards and Misfortunes.
- Resume session feature: several people complained that they could not get back ingot he game after their WiFi broke down, or their computer restarted, but there was nothing that we could do to help them... until Paul, our programmer, re-wrote the whole server code in February. So now, if you left a session for any reason, you will be able to return to the same session as long as that session is still on-going. Whoa.
- Player Exposed! animation: by popular request, we added an animation and a sound effect for the event when a player's hand is exposed to other players (through cards like "Personal Search" or through Misfortunes).
- Player leagues now have their own unique icons.
- 6 new Steam achievements. Because, of course.
B. CHANGES
- You can now move the in-game window title ("Choose a player" , "Choose a card" etc.) around the screen, so that if it obstructs something useful (e.g. victory condition counter), you're able to move it see everything you want.
- The active permanent card indicator on the playing field is now animated every time when that permanent card works.
- The clockwork city has thawed, winter-themed graphics is gone.
- Upgraded stats system: the game now tracks separately single-player, multiplayer and ranked session stats.
C. SFX / MUSIC
- New SFX: all text emoticons now have corresponding sound effects (we hope you enjoy them! we recorded with live gremlins).
- New SFX: Open Menu (in-game).
- New SFX: card deck is reshuffled.
- New SFX: Misfortune deck is reshuffled.
- New SFX: Player Exposed (when your cards are exposed), Other Player Exposed (when someone else's cards are exposed).
- New SFX: announcement received (e.g. when we warn about server update).
- New SFX: jail experience gained, jail experience lost.
- New SFX: jail term is increased.
- New SFX: location windows open (sound effects are added for all 11 locations, see if you like some of them more than the others and let us know please)
- New SFX: choose jail event and discard jail event now each have their own sounds.
- Changed SFX: the effect for playing the card "Usurper" is now different.
- Changed SFX: the effect for inviting a player is now different.
- Changed SFX: the effect for unlocking the achievement is now different.
- Changed SFX: the effect for increasing jail rank of another player is now different.
D. FIXES
- Major edits of all EN and RU texts.
- Fixed bug in the details of current sessions where empty slots would be shown instead of actual players.
- Fixed bug with playing a double click sound.
- Fixed bug with the disappearing window of card choice (but this might still show up, so please report any bugs encountered here).
- Fixed a rare bug with session getting stuck sometimes due to the card "Second-hand" and time-outs.
- Fixed a bug with the permanents of the 6th player being cut-off on the screen.
- Fixed bug when, while having a saved single-player game, if that player gained rating and then finished the single-player session afterwards, their rating would still reset to the same value as when the single-player session was started.
E. KNOWN ISSUES
- SAVED SESSIONS FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS WON'T LOAD.
- For the Governor, taking a bribe during while already in the Auction or Player Conflict does NOT increase the maximum limit of what that player might bet.
- Sometimes the window "choose card(s)" may now show up. Please report any cases, we'll dig deeper.
- Very rarely some spots will not be selectable for movement (if you encounter this bug please send us as many details as possible: unusual game situations, previous turn details, etc.)
