Shoot 'Em Up Kit 2.0.16

We're pleased to announce that version 2.0.16 is now available. This build contains a lot of fixes and upgrades to ensure the Shoot 'Em Up Kit features work as they should. It also includes features to animate items on the front-end pages (movement, scale and colour)

Version 2.0.16 Change list:

  • Added support for Front-End entrance effects. Items can fade in or move onto the screen. Delay times can also be used to stagger the order in which items appear.
  • Front-End items can use the colour, scale or offset position from a particle system. These can be used to create interesting effects when an item is displayed, selected or highlighted.
  • Detaching an object will leave it at the location in which is was released.
  • Removed range limitations on definition values.
  • Fixed lighting issues on multi-level games.
  • The Sprite Editor selection list is now filled correctly and the preview pane shows the current selection.
  • Fixed an issue which could allow non-selectable items to be highlighted in the Front-End pages.
  • Fixed some potential crashes when modifying particle systems for Sprite entities.
  • Step Distance and Step Repeat Time properties are now used and saved correctly.
  • Improved mouse controls, particularly for multi-player games.
  • Touch controls can be placed correctly.
  • Fixed a problem with sprites in the Level Editor being rescaled after changes are made to the sprite in the Entity Editor.
  • Changes to sprite items in the Entity Editor are correctly passed on to any entity instances in the Level Editor.
  • Log files are written for stand-alone builds.
  • Support for more Upgrade effects.
  • Fixed some problems with creating stand-alone builds that could cause inconsistent results.
  • Micro Pause and Slow Motion checkboxes show their correct state.
  • When using a joypad the front-end buttons now use the conventional Button A and Button B rather than the triggers.
  • Fixed a problem loading Formations in older map formats.
  • Fixed a potential crash when loading a project while another is already loaded.
  • Cavern sample has been updated to fix background flickering on some graphics devices.
  • The Ammo Level and Reload Time Remaining properties can now be accessed by the HUD and Behaviour Editor.
  • Added support for more Behaviour Editor nodes.
  • Fixed a problem with the incorrect item being selected from some filtered lists.

We hope you enjoy these features, fixes and upgrades. As always, if you have any questions, problems or feedback then please let us know.

Many thanks,
The Tall Studios team.
