Hi everyone,

Since this is our first blog entry, before we dive into the story and mechanics of the game, we’d like to give you a brief overview of what Iona’s Island is about.

At its heart, Iona’s Island is a game meant to help players relax as they explore the island. There’s a sense of charm and wonder in everything you do on the Island, and you can play completely at your own pace. You’ll be able to enjoy the game while uncovering mysteries, or just enjoy the relaxing lofi beats in the background as Iona dances while you idle in game (Something we’ve spent far too many hours doing ourselves!)

As Iona, you’re a resident of the spirit island that resides on a giant, friendly and wise, Sea Turtle’s back named Heimsskjald. From time to time, Iona wakes from a deep slumber, and helps Heimsskjald keep the island tidy and running smoothly. You can think of Iona as something like a magical gardner. You’ll learn a host of spells from the island residents, and use them to craft a unique island all to your own liking.

In future blogs, we’ll go into details about the spells Iona will learn, as well as the residents on the island, so you can get the full picture of how you can best restore and revive the flora on your own island!
