Hi everyone,
After a while without any updates, I'm happy to announce that I've completed a major overhaul of Oikizo's custom engine.
Over time, Oikizo had accumulated a lot of game-side code additions and workarounds to compensate for gaps in the engine. That's now been fixed — I went back down to the engine level to properly rework what needed reworking, in order to stabilize the game and make future additions to Oikizo much easier.
While I was at it, I also built the V1 of the shadow system and improved support for 3D assets and animations, which let me add the beginnings of wildlife to enrich the game's visual content and make it feel a bit more alive.
I'm working as fast as I can to bring you a new version of Oikizo. It will mostly consist of fixes and visual additions, as shown in the screenshot above, but it will serve as the new foundation for adding new gameplay features going forward :)
