Version 65
The build menu has been rebuilt
- The entire build menu has been cleaned up and rebuilt into a consistent three-column layout. Every buildable now uses the same size tile regardless of category, instead of each tab using a completely different layout.
- Trees, props and fences no longer extend past the edge of the build panel, so nothing gets pushed off-screen or becomes impossible to select.
- Item names now stay aligned along the bottom of each tile, making rows much easier to read at a glance.
- Hovering over any buildable now displays its name, including ground tiles, walls and bushes that previously had no labels.
- The category list on the left has been resized and spaced out, with much larger text. Your currently selected category also stays highlighted.
- The category dropdown at the top has been fixed. It was previously so narrow that most category names were cut off after only a couple of letters, but all twelve categories now display properly.
- The show and hide interiors button has been replaced with a proper toggle instead of appearing as a black box.
- The building picker used when multiple structures overlap has also been fixed. Large item images can no longer stretch the picker several times wider than the screen.
You can see what things cost before you build them
- Material costs are now much easier to read. Each material has its own column showing how much you currently have, its icon, and how much the buildable under your cursor will cost.
- Build costs now appear as soon as you hover over an item instead of only appearing after you select it.
- Materials you do not have enough of are highlighted in red, making it immediately obvious when you cannot afford something.
- Hovering over a buildable also displays its complete material cost next to its name.
- This replaces the old cost display, which was just a row of numbers separated by spaces and did not clearly line up with the materials they represented.
Deconstructing gives materials back
- Deconstructing a building now refunds 75% of the materials used to build it, rounded down for each material.
- Buildings that only cost one of a material will not return that material, preventing cheap structures from being repeatedly built and dismantled to generate resources.
- Any materials recovered from deconstruction are displayed underneath your material counters.
- Deleting a storage container that still contains items now gives you a confirmation warning and tells you exactly how many items are inside before it is removed.
- Material refunds and storage warnings now work across every way of removing a building - normal deletion, the erase brush, and the stacked-building picker. Previously, each removal method handled deletion separately and could behave differently.
Building fixes
- The Large Tarp can no longer be raised to ground level or higher. Since it is meant to act as a canopy, raising it above -1 caused it to render over the structure it was supposed to hang underneath.
