Hi adventurers!
My blog, as you know, is both my place of expression and the space where I write extended posts about updates, images, future features, and worldbuilding.
For me it’s the place where I express myself, where my world lives, and where I put all my creations (writing, images) and my experiences. It also hosts, most of the time, the articles, updates, and extended info about my game, my plans, and everything around it.
Yesterday, an automated system made a fatal mistake and locked a huge number of blogs, including mine.
So when you entered, you just saw an ugly white page saying the blog didn’t exist.
I immediately reported it, and then went to the support forums. There I learned what had happened. I insisted again this morning.
EDIT: It is back!
Edit: It seems they took it online again but it has been locked again now. That's as sad as this.
-- Edit August 6: They brought it back some hours ago! Now you can visit it again. The links will all work. It seems Blogger did something adding new bots that were supposed to be intelligent. But instead, they looked at the code of the blogs, and thought "Oh my, this is code!" and thought it was an attack. So they locked everyone's blogs. Anyway, I removed all mentions of "download".
I think we all were a bit too nervous, fearing this would last much longer (some were saying weeks, but it's been 48 hours only)

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
My theory is that the “limited intelligence” of these systems hates the word “download”. Since I constantly say “download my game on Steam”, they thought it was a download site.
It’s so dumb it cannot distinguish that I’m a solo dev announcing his own game.
Another theory is about me joking about the metal farts of some modern magic system! ːsteamhappyː (in my new post)
As you know, my stance on this is moderate. Extremely moderate, in fact.
The lesson is that AI is a nice tool for a human. But we cannot be so stupid. We have to use these tools as I always said and do: as tools. You rule. They can help, but they cannot take the steering wheel.
We have to think better and not throw our brains into the grinder. These technologies are here to stay, but they must remain tools, not replacements.
Replacement is possible, but it’s dumb. And it’s a bad replacement, worse in every area. I’m sorry, but you can’t stop working. You can’t stop being the one who directs things, who chooses, who imprints the whole creation.
WHAT I’M DOING
I’m going to replace all occurrences of “download” with “play”. Oh, dam. Some time ago the same thing happened because of the word “peek”, which it thought was something adult (it was “a sneak peek at future features of my game”), so I had to use “upcoming features” instead. ːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyː
After that, I’m going to make a small update that will add some spice to the Bestiary, fix bugs, and I’m also working on a guide here on Steam. And some usability improvements. I just need to test it a bit more.
Then come the boss monster quests, the palaces of the kings, and the rumors in the bar. Soon, also the fast tunnels to places, and other things you’ll love!
Let’s hope all those nasty bots the new internet uses don’t annoy me anymore! ːsteamhappyː
