Early Access v0.3.6 Patch Notes
This update focuses on balance adjustments for items, Number Enhance, and enemy Shields.
Balance
Items
Bell’s starting Power has increased from 2 to 4. Its Power still doubles with each active hand type: 0 types +4, 1 type +8, 2 types +16, 3 types +32, 4 types +64, 5 types +128.
Set Square now grants Amplify equal to the number of dice showing 3, 4, or 5 on the board, instead of twice that amount. Each die showing 3, 4, or 5 grants Amplify +1.
Weight’s Amplify +8 now stacks at the start of the turn instead of at the end. This means Amplify +8 applies from the first attack of the battle. Accumulated Amplify resets when the battle ends.
Number Enhance
Individual Number Enhance no longer grants a flat Power +5. The first enhance grants +4, and each subsequent enhance grants 1 more than the previous one (+4, +5, +6, +7, +8…).
All Numbers no longer grants a flat Power +1. The first two enhances grant +1, the next three grant +2, the next three grant +3, and after that, the gain increases by 1 every three enhances.
Repeatedly enhancing the same number increases the Power gained from later enhances.
Awaken Skin and Matchstick now grant Power equal to the gain from that number’s next enhance.
Enemy Shield
Enemy Shields now scale differently by area to reduce difficulty spikes within a single run.
Shields in Areas 1 and 2 are slightly higher. The first battle in Area 1 now has 6,000 Shield, up from 5,000.
The Area 3 Boss Shield remains similar to before.
The Area 4 Boss Shield has decreased from about 51 million to about 43 million.
Area 5 Shields have been reduced further. The Area 5 Boss Shield is now about 150 million, down from about 240 million.
In ongoing runs, a node’s Shield is recalculated using the new values when you enter its battle.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where closing the basic UI tutorial during the first battle prevented dice swapping for the rest of that turn.
Fixed an issue where board controls could remain locked if the tutorial overlapped with a dice roll. Dice swapping and board buttons now become available again when the tutorial ends.
Thanks for playing Dicewayfarer!
