Greetings, Captains.
This is StarSavior Director Lee Sungwon.
Thank you to all Captains for the incredible support you have shown for [Lost in Summer! Fated Paradise].
Alongside the swimsuit event and the new Luna and Smile Saviors, this update also included several improvements addressing long-standing issues in StarSavior. We put a great deal of care into many parts of this update, and we were truly grateful to see such a warm response from all service regions.
Your support has also given the development team renewed motivation to keep making StarSavior better. Thank you for being with us.
There is still plenty of room to improve, and we will continue focusing on changes that Captains can feel directly in play.
A summer update survey is also currently underway, and we hope many Captains will take part.
We are reviewing all of your feedback carefully and, as with the previous survey, will select questions we can address in our next community update.
First, we had originally planned to talk today about the Deep Mining Operation. However, Deep Mining Operation still requires further internal review, so we decided to wait until the concept is more fully developed before sharing the details.
We apologize to everyone who has been waiting for more information. We will finalize the details as quickly as possible and share a more in-depth introduction soon.
In this Dev Notes, we will first cover the roadmap for upcoming Main Story chapters and events, starting with [Metabasis of Ashen Embers] on August 20.
We will also outline the direction of upcoming system additions and improvements.
Main Story and Event Roadmap
1. Metabasis of Ashen Embers
[Metabasis of Ashen Embers], featuring Cristelle and Haydee, will run for approximately two weeks from August 20 to September 4.
The story follows Cristelle and Haydee through the ruins of an ancient kingdom, where long-buried truths about their past begin to surface.
While the recent swimsuit event had a bright and lighthearted tone, [Metabasis of Ashen Embers] takes the story in a more serious direction. We hope the change in tone offers a fresh experience.
Cristelle, who will be featured in a Featured Observation alongside the event, is a Sun Attribute Ranger-class Savior.
Cristelle is the President of Morrel Ocean Traders and a Savior who wields a forbidden power. She is a debuff-focused damage dealer who inflicts [Burn] on enemies and uses it to deal Chain DMG.
Cristelle offers a different approach from traditional damage dealers, focusing on gradually building up damage over time. We hope you will consider her Featured Observation if this playstyle appeals to you.
2. Main Story: Episode 7: The Witch's Veil
Next is [Main Story: Episode 7: The Witch's Veil], running from September 3 to September 17.
[The Witch's Veil] follows Luna, Smile, and Omega as they head to Raven Wall in search of the Captain and Asherah, who disappeared in Main Story Episode 6.
There, they encounter a mysterious ally named Amora, who becomes central to the events unfolding in Raven Wall.
Amora, the mysterious helper, is an Order Attribute Assassin-class Savior.
As a Cosmic Savior, Amora can remove her own debuffs under certain conditions and unleash explosive burst damage when no debuffs are affecting her.
Take a closer look at Amora, and you may notice she bears a striking resemblance to someone familiar. We’ll leave the truth of her identity for you to discover as the story unfolds. Of course, some sharp-eyed Captains may already have figured it out.
Amora is also the first Savior with a curvier figure than those we’ve introduced before. Her distinctive physique gives her an entirely new kind of presence. As a Cosmic Savior, she also comes with a dedicated Toughness Break animation.
From her visual design to her combat style, we hope Amora will feel distinct in every respect.
3. A Study in Gray
Next, [A Study in Gray] will run for approximately three weeks from September 17 to October 8.
[A Study in Gray] follows Professor M, Gwen, and Lily of Lampadis Investigations as they investigate a strange incident taking place in downtown NOA.
Personally, [A Study in Gray] is one of the updates I am most excited about. We see it as a turning point for StarSavior, both in storytelling and in gameplay.
You can already catch glimpses of Professor M and Gwen through Lily’s Journey and Arcana Story before they make their full debut in this event. Captains who are curious about these two characters may also find it interesting to check those stories before the event begins.
We will share a dedicated look at [A Study in Gray] through another channel soon, including more details on the new elements planned for the event.
4. Discordant Duet on the Black Snowfield
[Discordant Duet on the Black Snowfield] returns for a one week rerun from October 8 to October 15.
[Discordant Duet on the Black Snowfield] follows Emily and Trish as they carry out a request from Kalaid and become caught up in an unexpected incident.
We hope Captains who missed the event before, as well as those who joined after the Asia and Global launches, will take this opportunity to experience the story.
5. A Warrior's Heart: Meant to Serve!
Finally, [A Warrior's Heart: Meant to Serve!] will run for approximately three weeks from October 15 to November 6.
[A Warrior's Heart: Meant to Serve!] is a maid-themed event featuring Ceres, leader of the Western Liberators, and Lydia, their strategist.
As briefly mentioned in previous Dev Notes, this event will show a side of the Western Liberators you have not seen before. We hope you will look forward to seeing Ceres and Lydia in a very different light.
6. Main Story / Event Roadmap Summary
To summarize, the Main Story and event roadmap through October is as follows.
Each of these Main Story chapters and events explores a different tone and side of StarSavior. We hope you will look forward to the stories ahead and the new Saviors you will meet.
Next, we will cover upcoming system additions and improvements, starting with the August 20 update.
Additional / Improved Systems
1. Improved Journey Accessibility
First, we are introducing a new item, [Faded Invitation], to make Journeys more accessible.
If you have fewer than 5 Faded Invitations, they will recharge each day up to the maximum of 5. They recharge in the same way as the entry currencies used for Cube Palace and Flash Point.
As mentioned in the Mini Dev Notes, Faded Invitations can be used not only to enter Journeys but also to reobserve Blessings after a Journey ends. The base limit for Blessing reobservations will also be increased to 5.
With these changes, we hope to lower the barrier to Journeys while giving Captains more opportunities to obtain the Blessings they want.
2. More Impactful Combat Progression
Next, we are making Savior growth feel more impactful in battle.
Star Link Amplification will now grant a significant stat boost every 20 levels. These boosts will come directly from Star Link Amplification rather than through Tactical Analysis.
This should make each milestone feel more meaningful, and the bonuses will apply retroactively to amplification levels already reached before the update.
Alongside the Star Link Amplification changes, we are also expanding the Combat Power difficulty display into five tiers: Caution, Danger, Hard, Very Hard, and Nightmare.
These tiers will do more than provide clearer difficulty information. Each time you cross into a new difficulty tier, the downscaling caused by Combat Power differences will be meaningfully reduced. As a result, certain Combat Power ranges will see noticeably less downscaling than under the current system.
At the same time, there will be no Combat Power ranges where downscaling becomes stronger than it is now. Our goal is to make the impact of progression more noticeable and help everyone identify appropriate challenges at a glance, without making any Combat Power range more difficult or increasing its downscaling.
3. More Rewarding Journey Progression
Next, we are making several improvements aimed at making progression during Journeys feel more rewarding.
We will increase both the chance of obtaining Blessings during Journeys and the chance of gaining Potential from those Blessings.
We are also addressing the relatively higher Journey difficulty experienced by Saviors who gain Focus and Protection through Resonance Enhancement. We will increase the amount of Focus and Protection gained through Resonance Enhancement, as well as the effects of related Blessings available during Journeys. These changes will take effect with the August 27 update.
We will also continue revising Journey events so that simply encountering an event feels less punishing, while riskier choices offer rewards that better match the challenge. These changes will roll out gradually from August through September.
4. Other Changes
The features introduced in the previous Mini Dev Notes, Lobby Access during Gauntlet Matchmaking, Guild Member Arcana Lending, and Gear Score display, will all arrive on August 20.
The new Challenge of the Stars format for Cosmo Gate will follow on August 27. As the Prism Season brings significant changes to Cosmo Gate, we will continue to closely monitor player fatigue and make adjustments as needed. We would appreciate your feedback on the new season of Cosmo Gate.
September will also bring several QoL improvements and new content.
We will gradually introduce QoL features designed to reduce the hassle of daily gameplay and make routine activities quicker to complete. We are also working on improvements to help new and returning Captains settle into the game more smoothly, along with accessible new content for players at every stage of progression, including limited-time event minigames. We hope you will look forward to what is coming in September.
We appreciate your understanding that we cannot share more details about the September update just yet.
We are preparing several opportunities to share more details, including Developer Talk broadcasts, Mini Dev Notes, and offline events. We will use these channels to reveal upcoming content and schedules as they are finalized, so we appreciate your understanding that we cannot cover everything here today.
Our next Developer Talk is planned for early September and will focus on [A Study in Gray], arriving with the September 17 update.
Moreover, we will use the broadcast to give you the first detailed look at the revamped Overload Cube we previously discussed. We hope you will look forward to seeing what has changed.
The entire development team remains fully committed to making StarSavior better. We know there is still much to improve, and we will continue tackling each challenge one by one while listening closely to your feedback.
We look forward to sharing more with you in the upcoming Developer Talk.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
