Hello, this is joy1999.
I'd like to share some updates about my current project.
Touhou Crawl is a very old fan game project that combines Dungeon Crawl with the Touhou Project. It's been around for nearly 15 years, although there have been long periods of inactivity.
While it may look like a minor copy of Dungeon Crawl, it was entirely developed from the ground up.
I recently decided to revisit this old project for fun and release it on Steam for free.
Originally, my goal was just to upload the existing game to Steam with minimal changes. But once I started working on it again, I found myself wanting to improve various aspects of the game.
Here’s what I’m currently working on:
- Multilingual support - I’m refactoring the code to make it easier to add new languages. For now, I plan to include AI-assisted English translations.
- Legacy code improvements
- Mouse support
- In-game options menu
- Steam Cloud saves, leaderboards, and achievements
- Additional sprints
- Balance adjustments – The original version was intentionally easy, but it’ll likely be much more challenging this time.
- New gods, races, classes, monsters, and more – as many as I can come up with
...and more!
The current goal is to release the game sometime in Q3 2025, but since I’m working on it in my spare time, delays are possibl
I hope to see you again at launch.
