Votrue and The Other One
In the vast majority of faiths within the world of Andinomie, Votrue and The Other One constitute the absolute foundation of all theological logic. Rather than separate entities, they are two sides of the same supreme existence—dual deities representing the cosmic cycle of creation and destruction.
Votrue: Meaning "The Lord of All Things," representing light, order, orthodoxy, and sanctuary in the eyes of the believer.
The Other One: The heretical entity opposed to Votrue, universally feared as the ultimate source of conspiracy, chaos, and calamity.
In essence, the two cannot exist divided. Just as two vastly different kinds of humans inhabit this world, these deities serve as each other's mirror image, manifesting their very existence only through mutual opposition.
High above, the gods act as eternal observers of the heavens, watching the shifting tides of the mortal realm. Yet, bound by the absolute laws of the universe, they cannot directly interfere with human affairs. To breach this divide, they mutually created Ychesympals—the sacred bridges of communication through which the deities hand down their proverbs and divine decrees.
In truth, the gods possess no true names; Votrue and The Other One are merely designations determined entirely by the observation and choice of the believer.
Whosoever is worshipped becomes Votrue; whatsoever stands opposed is relegated to The Other One.

Q: Does the power of song originate from the gods?
A: While treating it as a divine gift is technically just one way to interpret the innate ability to perceive and manipulate melody... you can certainly look at it that way! At least, that is what the vast majority of Melodians firmly believe. They offer up their prayers in the form of hymns; if their beautiful music pleases the heavens, the deities will grant the very miracles they beg for.
Q: Since there are two distinct kinds of humans and two gods in this world, do they directly correspond to one another? For instance, is Votrue specifically the god of the Melodians?
A: In the doctrines of many orthodox religions, that is exactly how the common folk understand it. However, in practice—depending on the specific era, the nature of the story, and various historical contexts—such a neat correlation doesn't necessarily exist across the board.
By the way, even where a direct correspondence DOES exist, it isn't a simple matter of Votrue matching the Melodians and The Other One matching the Intellects. Remember, "Votrue" and "The Other One" are merely designations, not the actual, fixed identities of the two deities. Whether you are a Melodian or an Intellect, whosoever you place your faith in automatically becomes your Votrue.
Q: Are they a dual unity, or are they in direct opposition? One moment it sounds like Votrue and The Other One share the same origin, but the next it feels like a classic battle between good and evil.
A: Within most worldly faiths, priests and scriptures will almost always frame it as a standard conflict between good and evil. In truth, however, the two indeed share the exact same origin, and there isn't necessarily a stark, clear-cut boundary separating them.
