Aye, I figured you'd come by... and this time it's for the second, bigger patch.
You've been diving for a couple of weeks now, and you've been sending us everything you've found down there: bugs, issues, and feedback.
We've been reading all of it and we're dedicated to fixing what we can as soon as we can. We also want to apologize for the inconvenience these bugs may have caused to your experience of the game.
So, here's the meaty second round of fixes for patch note 1.0.5.882.
Improvements
Gameplay
Extended the 4th Idol’s sound/visual effect area so you can guess its location from further away.
Following numerous complaints about It That Crawls (also known as It That Gets Negative Reviews), we added a light to it that extends pretty far away and gives you a directional visual cue when it’s approaching to complement the audio cue.
Added an “Unstuck” button to the Pause menu that only shows in the rare situation where you find yourself stuck inside a wall. If It That Tilts adds insult to injury by throwing you off the map, hit ESC to get right back in the level and within its reach!
Rain darts now break vines.
Slightly moved the Rebreather Mk.2 blueprint so it’s further away from the nearby Rain tumor (it’s still essentially in the same place, just mildly nudged upward).
UI
Added proper feedback when the survivor manning the Fishing hut dredges a dead diver’s loot (happens occasionally depending on the manning survivor’s fitness). This lacked feedback and could lead players to believe the dead diver items had disappeared, while they had actually been recovered already.
The Biohack treatment now says “Biohack”!
Changed the description of the “Cure all” treatment so it can no longer be confused with “Cure one condition”.
VFX & Sound Design
Removed the healing feedback on the Eldritch scooter upgrade, which was spammy and distracting.
Balancing
Killing a Rain Psalmist can no longer grant Mixed traits (which risked bricking specific builds at random), only Positive ones.
Adjusted the XP value for Brilliance: it used to say it granted +150%XP but actually only granted +50% due to a bug, it now grants +100% XP and says that instead.
Nerfed the Temporary analgesia condition (50% > 30% damage reduction).
Bug fixes
Crashes & Major offenders
Fixed the main cause for crashes on certain systems when coming back from a dive (it was due to heavy map-related memory allocations). If the game used to crash on you when finishing dives, there’s a good chance it won’t happen again!
Fixed our save backup system so it can no longer backup an already-corrupted save (which could happen during Windows crashes for example). Because it's comparably bad.
Fixed a few other potential causes for rare crashes.
Reduced some heavy memory allocations that could lead to the game taking up more RAM than expected. This might help fix other rare “out of memory” crashes.
Gameplay
Fixes to Crystallized Rain:
Lowered the Crystallized Rain cost for upgrading structures to Tier 4 so that there are enough of them to upgrade all structures in a single run.
Fixed multiple bugs that led to Crystallized Rain reappearing after being picked or otherwise duplicating. These bugs also affected Rain pearls.
For players who had already spent Crystallized Rain: upon loading your save, you will be refunded a number of Crystallized Rain equal to half the amount you had spent, which should allow you to upgrade all structures in a single run and get the Living Hamlet achievement.
Fixed a bug that caused structure upgrades to consume all items of a given type when using both blessed and normal versions of a material, instead of the proper number.
Fixed the Blood gate destruction confirmation popup soft-locking the game on Controller/Steam deck.
Fixed a rare soft-lock that could happen if you entered an Idol’s illusion while aiming.
Fixed the Miraculous recovery event not properly completing special treatments such as Biohack, Enhance and Experiment.
Fixed the Enhance treatments occasionally doing nothing (when they rolled a condition your survivor already had).
Fixed a rare situation that could lead you to have a negative number of items of a certain type.
Fixed the Rain blessed and Rain grazed traits not correctly preventing the Rain-touched from attacking the diver.
Fixed Quick-learner leading to duplicate skills and erroneous skill levels after resetting a survivor’s level by burning a Rain pearl. Losing certain special Traits like Master diver also didn’t remove added stats, leading to unexpected stat stacking. If you already had this issue, duplicate skills should disappear from your survivor but the extra skill levels and stats will remain.
Fixed level reset through Rain pearl sometimes not properly resetting the Town Hall’s level up state, possibly leading the survivor to get lvl 3 skills at lvl 2, for example.
Fixed the Electric pulse generator not benefiting from the Marine engineering skill.
Fixed a bug in the Boonfish’s spawn probability calculation.
Fixed the Quick-learner trait’s acquisition not triggering the He Who Learns achievement.
Fixed damage reduction above 100% causing the diver to heal instead of taking damage. Minimum damage taken from a hit is now 1.
Fixed crafting recipes unlocked by traits such as Chemistry and Mechanics being unlocked by manning structures other than the Workshop.
Fixed certain traits/conditions wrongly triggering when picking up items you dropped from your inventory (those that heal the diver when picking up certain items, and those that add a % chance to duplicate an item on collection).
Fixed a bug when a moonbeam hit a resource when you were collecting it that could lead to the diver being unable to gather other resources during that dive. It could also duplicate the collected item.
Fixed hosted expedition survivor disappearing when a new expedition returned.
Fixed a survivor possibly having the same tool equipped twice due to items remaining equipped on unavailable “extra slots” granted by Quartermaster.
Fixed the Black rain event removing survivors from manning even if they’re safeguarded by the Motherly spirit condition.
Fixed an edge case that could prevent Blessed hierophant from working. We’re not 100% sure this fixes the issue reported by some players.
UI
Fixed numerous issues with the Waterproof locker:
You couldn’t scroll the diver’s inventory on its UI.
You couldn’t transfer items to the diver’s inventory if you didn’t have enough space for the entire stack (even though items transfer one at a time).
You couldn’t add over 9 items to the Locker.
You could add certain unique items to it (such as Crystallized rain).
You couldn’t add new items to an existing stack on the Locker if all slots were occupied.
The UI could generally have empty slots in between items and selection issues.
It was possible to duplicate items using the locker.
Fixed a few issues with Fishable item collection:
Sometimes the selected fish wasn’t the one that was actually collected.
“Collect all” didn’t work correctly.
It was possible to have more fishables than the Fishing hut’s inventory had slots.
With a controller, when selecting survivors as targets for special fishable effects (like granting Imaginary friend), the menu would continue selecting other fishables/buttons behind the survivor selection panel, leading to incorrect collections and lost fishables.
Collecting certain fishables like the Albino leech or the Dwarf stalker could lead to incorrect selection behaviors and even soft-locks.
Fixed Infirmary treatments not correctly scrolling on the controller depending on what treatments were available.
Fixed the Cure all treatment being usable even when there were no conditions to cure.
Fixed paused Infirmary treatments incorrectly stating that the treatment was completed in the daily reports.
Fixed pinned recipes going offscreen if too many long recipes were displayed during a dive (it now scales down if needed).
Fixed the structure manning indicator on the camp’s main screen not correctly displaying manning survivors when they were Fatigued or Insane.
Fixed fitness condition text not displaying a tooltip on hover in certain languages where the text has to be truncated.
Fixed the Blessed material usage popup incorrectly showing when there was enough normal material under certain conditions.
Fixed a bug that could cause the Diving deck to open regardless of the selected menu on Steam deck.
Fixed one possible issue that could lead survivor renaming to rename multiple survivors at once on Steam deck (we suspect that this might not be fully fixed and that there are other remaining causes).
Fixed Blood darts displaying the incorrect icon in dive.
Fixed the Stillborn egg displaying the incorrect location in the Library.
Removed a deprecated entry from Library resources as it could no longer be obtained.
Fixed multiple typos, including one erroneous idol location description (for Idol #7) in all languages but English.
Fixed a few UI display issues on Steam deck.
VFX & Sound Design
Fixed the screen’s darkening due to lack of oxygen remaining even after oxygen was restored.
Others
Fixed the It That Hopes achievement not triggering when handing over all 8 idols. If you already have a save with all 8 idols handed over, this achievement will automatically unlock as soon as you launch the game.
Deleted a few placeholder images from the game’s files to reduce overall game weight (others still remain).
