We never planned to add custom name colors but it was something that quite a few people have asked for since launch. However, we were also in the process of working on a really awesome top secret (not so secret) collab which would require support for In App Purchases (IAP) so that money could be split to the collaborating team/product/ip etc.
So, we figured we'd kill two birds with one stone. We made custom name tag colors with a very low price IAP in order to verify that all backend systems work before we go ahead with this new collab. $1.99 USD you can find it in the new Shop in the pause menu, or go to Multiplayer > Sessions > Enter Name.
Again, all of this is in service and preparation for the ability for us to do collabs with brands, creators, and other awesome IPs which will help the studio grow and provide a foundation for rad things like unique unlockable skins or accessories.
