Spinera, a rogue-like civ-management game, started its first journey in February and has been going on since then. As Arvis Games, we have accomplished many tasks and challenges along the way. In this article, you will see our trail steps to the current path we are on.
A Summary of What We Developed and Changed
Came up with the layout from scratch, had many iterations.
Came up with the visuals.
Added in-game icons. Leaders, soldiers, resources, technologies, and wonders. Many iterations with enchanted versions.
Battle scenes.
You can find detailed information about Spinera’s development journey down below! We insist you read it until the end. 🙂
Our game designers created Spinera’s first draft on paper, then transitioned it to digital, and many changes have been made since then. Below, you will find Spinera’s first digital layout, followed by the latest version.
We have come a long way in terms of UI layout. We wanted to emphasize the difference between every era and give the player the sensation of leading their civilization through eras with our UI layout. You will see changes in the UI depending on the era you are currently in. Transitioning from Ancient Times to the Medieval Era, you will see buildings from this era, featuring now wooden-style panels. Keep your eyes open to see differences while playing. 👀
Of course, after the first draft of Spinera, our art team began producing in-game icons, including those for resources generated with each spin, as well as icons for soldiers, leaders, wonders, technologies, and great people. “With our icons on hand, we completed every task and had a smooth sailing to our latest version!” You wish you had heard that, right? Our art team put their blood, sweat and tears through all the changes and took their creativity and skills to another level.
In terms of artistic vision and user-friendliness, we changed some of the icons and splash arts.
Our first splash arts went from this to.... BA-DUM-TSS! 🥁🥁🥁
THIS! ✨✨
We had felt like leading your civilization from the ashes resonated with “The Creation of Adam”.
We have changed icons in our battle scenes as well. You can see that in early iterations, we were experimenting with how user-friendly these battle scenes are and how visually appealing they are.
Now, A New Chapter Begins for Spinera! 🎰📖
Our playtest is approaching. We are eager to see how you will lead your civilization and give your feedback that will be crucial for us in the next phase of Spinera.
