Greetings, Cascadiers!
We are back with another big update for The Cascadier, including a tutorial to help steer you through the game, updated mechanics and visuals on machines and overall optimisation. Let’s dive into the update!
New Tutorial
Since early access started, we have been fortunate enough to have streamers try out The Cascadier and provide great feedback. One of the most common notes was the lack of direction and explanation of the mechanics inside the game. We listened and have now implemented a tutorial that players will see when they first play. It introduces the base mechanics and guides you through your first run so you can get to grips with the game.

Machine 3 Visual Update
We’re continuing to improve our machines with visual upgrades and new mechanics to make them even more fun and engaging. With this update, Machine 3 receives a brand-new Euphoria mechanic, featuring a statue at the centre that slams its hammer down to upgrade coins on impact. There’s also a chance for coins to transform into Molten Coins, granting additional score. Alongside these gameplay changes, we’ve revamped the machine’s aesthetic with more fiery elements and added coin pushers to both sides to stop the coins from getting stuck or clumped up.

Updated UI
We’ve overhauled elements of the UI to better reflect the game’s visual identity, creating a more consistent experience throughout. From menus including the Trinket and First Coin selection screen, to in-game elements such as the Euphoria and score panel in-game. These changes bring everything together for a more cohesive and polished look that feels true to The Cascadier.

Controller Support
We’ve been working to implement controller support, giving players more ways to enjoy The Cascadier without relying on keyboard and mouse.
Progression Reset
As a result of the massive changes to balancing, gameplay and pretty much everything in The Cascadier, and the next few patches all doing heavy adjustments, we are now resetting progression for all players each time we release a patch until we stabilise the core gameplay and balance it out, otherwise you would be sitting at 100% completion easily, without actually playing the game which isn’t fun for anyone. We know progression resets can be less than fun, but this is vital for us to make sure our game is balanced and fun in the long term.
