We'll be having The Survivor's New Clothes version released in October. This upcoming version will deal mostly with fundamental new clothcrafting features, bringing the cloth item and character made cloth garments into the existence. The days have still been filled with fixing and balancing all the new stuff during playtesting, but come October, the new version will arrive.
The finish line is in sight, and here are just a few screenshots along the way.
Heta is haggling over the price of 9 feet of linen cloth. That's just the length required for making an undershirt. Oh how light, soft and cosy undershirt it would make, but there is really a price to pay for that.
In addition to the gameplay mechanics we've also updated game encyclopedia entries considering the garments and their their usage so that you can better immerse yourself in crafting your own outfit. With the most complex garments taking days and days to craft, and the materials also being on the expensive side, it's probably still not every character's priority to sew everything from a scratch.
As the new version deals with mostly clothcrafting, the ongoing playtesting also consist mostly of clothcrafting. I've already become quite fond of having the characters spend their evenings or short winter days crafting a whole new set of things, developing their clothcrafting skills, and enjoying the satisfaction of making good-quality garments for themselves. Nalbinding is slow, but rewarding. Heta has spent several moonlit evenings making socks for herself. Few more evenings to go, and she can finally try them on.
Some time in October, you'll finally get to try it all out.
