Hello Grove Keepers!
We have a pretty big patch for you!
Turbo Mode
We've gotten feedback that even with the 3x speed, the gameplay can feel a little slow. So, we've added Turbo mode for all of you speed demons. Turbo mode is a new mode that you can enable on any of your runs. On turbo mode, all units are faster, spawn rate is increased, and capture rate has been decreased (so you have time to react with all of these faster units). We hope you enjoy it!
Easy Difficulty
We've also gotten feedback that the game feels too hard sometimes. The game is meant to be challenging, but we realize it can be too much, even with the meta progression. The new Easy difficulty will give your units a small boost in stats, but it should make a big difference. When you're ready, you can bump up to normal difficulty!
Performance Improvements
We recognize that on levels with many factions and units, the game can start to lag. We've made a series of improvements to the logic in the game to have less burden on compute. You can see some of our benchmarks with a ton of units on the map.
Before
After
On the before, you see that there are some really big spikes of lag, and the red line, which impacts FPS stays at an elevated rate. On the after image, you see the spikes are much smaller and manageable, and the red line has more valleys.
Improved Unit Targeting
We realize sometimes golems stand there without attacking - you should see much less of that with our improved unit targeting logic!
We hope you enjoy this patch! We're working on the next content patch and will hopefully have that out soon!
