Update 2 is out! Now you can start the browser directly in the «Kids Mode».

Yes, finally we have delivered the promised feature. You can now run the browser directly in the «Kids Mode» and when you exit the app you will get back to your desktop at once. Pretty convenient.

The only problem... is the way Steam works with shortcuts :(

This new «Kids Mode» launch can be easily triggered from "Library" section of Steam App. Just click "Launch" when our app is selected and you'll see small dialog with a choice between regular and kid modes.

Same small dialog is triggered when you right-click on the steam icon in your tray bar and select "Panda School Browser" from the list of recent apps.

Of course we realize, that it is not the perfect way to run a browser.
So we suggest the following steps to manually create a «Kids Mode» shortcut on your desktop:

  1. Right click on the Panda School Browser in your Steam App -> Library -> Software section and select "Properties".
  2. Click on the "Local Files" tab.
  3. Click on the "Browse Local Files..." button
  4. Drag the "PandaSchoolBrowser.exe" file (the one with the panda face on it) with your RIGHT mouse button to your desktop. When releasing a button you'll see a contextual menu and should select "Create shortcuts here". Attention - if you will use the left mouse button you'll just copy the exe file to your desktop, and it will not work as a shortcut.
  5. Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties".
  6. Add the argument --direct-child-mode to the "Target" input. It should be added AFTER the closing double-quote.

Final result should look similar to

"F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Panda School Browser\PandaSchoolBrowser.exe" --direct-child-mode

Sorry for the compicated setup... but unfortunately Steam does not allow more useful alternatives. If you happen to find a better way to handle this - let us know, please.
