Patch Notes #01: New Spider Priestess Builds + A Bunch of Bug Fixes

Hey hey hey everyone!

We're thrilled to bring you the first update just one day after Apokerlypse's launch!

This update focuses primarily on urgent bug fixes, along with some sneaky buffs to the Spider Priestess and the Rogue:

New Content

Spider Priestess — 4 new chips added:

  • [Spivet Coffee] The Spider God also gains gold when devouring cards.

  • [Pardon] When the Spider God can neither devour nor weave, it resets 1 card instead.

  • [Wrath of God] The Spider God can now be played; when played, all web cards are played as bombs.

  • [Casket of Eight Legs] The Spider God can now be played; when played, randomly applies a large number of enchantments to cards in hand.

Rogue — 1 new skill added:

  • [Pro Prankster] The Rogue can swap hands with the enemy, then apply Smoke Screen.

Bug Fixes

Chips

  • Chip [Dragonplate Armor] could not grant immunity to the freeze effect of chip [Cold War].

  • Chip [Tycoon] was non-functional.

  • Gladiator chip [Anger of a King] was not triggering correctly.

  • Chip [Twin Gods] combined with chip [Zuma] caused an infinite loop.

  • Certain quest chips were incorrectly linked to the wrong quest reward chips.

  • After selling Spider chip [Wrath of God], holding Spider chip [Casket of Eight Legs] still prevented the Spider God from being played.

  • Spider chip [Chrysalis] was freezing an abnormal number of cards.

  • Spider chip [Wrath of God] could not clear the table when no web cards were present.

  • Spider chip [Explosive Spider] was causing the bomb limit to increase abnormally over time.

  • Rogue chip [Combo Fatigue]'s effect was persisting across battles.

  • Certain quest reward chips (e.g., chip [Dirty Bomb]) could be sold directly in the shop.

Skills

  • Skill [Army of Wights] could not convert Jokers (Big) into Jokers (Small). Using [Army of Wights] when only a Big Joker and Small Joker remained in hand would cause the player to lose the play button.

  • In multiplayer mode, Queen skill [Hot Breath] was freezing an incorrect number of cards.

  • When the opponent's skill [Shoplifting] stole the player's last card in hand, that card would continue to display throughout the rest of the game.

  • Cards that were just reset could not be immediately reset again (e.g., skill [Turn the Tables] + affix [Tidy]).

Hero Mechanics

  • Optimized the description of the Spider God's web-weaving mechanic. (Important!!)

  • Multiple Spider Gods devouring each other caused an infinite loop.

Multiplayer

  • After leaving a room, players were unable to re-create or join a room.

  • In 3-player multiplayer, the affix selection screen would get stuck if a player marked ready but the status failed to sync to the server and other players.

  • Players who had not completed the tutorial could be invited into multiplayer by friends, causing the game to freeze mid-session.

  • A camera angle issue prevented players from selecting rewards.

  • Players were unable to select Destiny Cards during their own turn, causing the game to freeze.

  • If chip [Swift Dragon] triggered simultaneously with winning a battle, no one could play cards at the start of the next battle, causing the game to freeze.

  • A rare issue in multiplayer caused the play button to disappear, freezing the game.

  • No warning was displayed when Steam failed to connect.

  • In the top-left log, the opponent's actions were displayed under the player's own name.

Items

  • Premium card packs did not contain cards enchanted with Arcane.

Localization

  • Missing foreign language translations for some new characters.

  • Missing foreign language translations for some multiplayer-related text.

  • Optimized foreign language translations for some achievement titles.

Other

  • Spider Priestess and Rogue chips were not paginated in the Codex.

  • Playtest save data was causing certain achievements to be unclockable.

  • The unlock condition for achievement [No Leftovers in the Spider's Web] had an abnormal card devour count requirement.

  • At the start of a battle, when two characters' cards collided, the cards would burn to ash.

  • At the start of a battle, the power display for both characters would overflow outside the text box.

  • In single-player mode, the Rogue's portrait was displaying incorrectly during card collisions.

There are also a number of other minor bugs that have been fixed; as their impact is minimal, they are not listed individually here.

Also! We're excited to let everyone know that a new character is in the works and coming together fast!

We believe this mysterious new character will be meeting you all very soon, bringing a brand new card-playing (we think) feel to the table!

With love from Hell,2026.4.30
