Tutorial
Previously the demo didn’t include the tutorial, which may have led to the loss of soldiers who were not properly trained not to hold their weapons upside down. We released an article diving into how it works but reading an article is nothing like playing a real tutorial.
It can be accessed using the Story button that is now available in the main menu.
Then follow the steps in order to play through a 4-mission campaign. It works as the introduction to the campaign of Super World War, telling the beginning of the story and how everything starts. Play as Louis Capitulet who just wants to enjoy his free time… until his garden turns into a warzone. And no, they’re not here to play Pilorniau!
Once you’ve completed the tutorial you will still be able to play the demo with the same features described here.
Saves not compatible
With the update of the demo, we need to inform you that previously saved games will no longer be compatible with the new version. As the game is still in development, it continues to evolve and have its parameters changed. Therefore, saves using an older version of the game will be corrupted. Don’t worry, this won’t happen once the full game is released and we’ll continue to update it, but it is not something we can do for the demo.
As the available maps within the demo are meant for rather short games we feel that it is an acceptable issue to have while providing access to the tutorial and various improvements and bug fixes.
Improvements and bug fixing
Speaking of which, this update also includes various bug fixes and improvements. Here is a list of the most notable inclusions:
The AI shouldn’t move its units close to yours without doing anything more. There is no place for pacifism in this madness!
The AI’s obsession for ambushes should be cured, now using them with moderation!
The AI is now able to give up the game if there is no way to win the game anymore. The choice is yours: accept their surrender... or wipe them off the map.
The settings menu is no longer a placeholder.
Scoring system for time-limited games is now much simpler and intuitive.
Unit details are now fixed and shouldn’t display incorrect information.
The statistics and end game screens have been improved.
A bug making it possible for the player to attack themselves resulting in the game corruption is now fixed.
And a lot more minor fixes.
And that’s it for today’s update. As said earlier, the game is still under development, so feel free to reach us through our social links to share any feedback or issue you may have!
Super World War is coming soon and with it, the complete campaign and all the responses to the thrilling questions you might have! In the meantime we hope you enjoy our demo!
