Hello everyone!
Our team has been working hard to bring The House of Hikmah to life, and as we move toward announcing a launch date, we wanted to share some ways you can keep up with our progress and see what we're working on!
Scroll-Stopping Videos
Want quick, eye-catching looks at the game? Select your video scrolling platform of choice and... like and subscribe? We've been releasing regular videos on Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube where we not only show never-before-seen glimpses of the game, but developer diaries and bloopers... because game development is a... process 🙃
Letters from the Scholars
Our characters were inspired by real historical figures, so they have strong personalities and a lot to say. Get a glimpse at what they write to one another by signing up for our email newsletter, where you'll get weekly letters from the scholars that will give you a bit of advance lore that you won't find in the game!
Deep Dives and Dev Takes
If you're looking for something a little more in depth, we've also published several blogs.
Learn more about the inspiration behind our main character, Maya. Or, if you're the kind of person who takes the time to appreciate the scenery, you'll enjoy our take on immersive Art and Architecture. There's also a look at who really runs the studio.
Most recently, our Narrative Designer, Sarah, wrote a blog that discusses how we approached telling a deeply personal story about grief and loss while incorporating elements of history and real scholars who became the inspiration for our characters. This blog is written from a narrative developer lens, and might be of interest to other devs who are working on games or stories with similar themes... or just anyone who wants a sneak peek at our process. You can find the blog here on our website, or on Reddit where we've encouraged other devs to weigh in with their thoughts.
What's Next?
In the coming weeks, we'll share more detail about each of our scholars, gameplay elements and more. We'll also have an announcement on how you can be one of the first people to experience part of the game. So stay tuned for more updates and behind-the-scenes looks!
Tell Us!
We'd love to hear from you: what are you most excited to learn more about? Should we talk about alchemy and transformation mechanics? Our voice actors? Is there a particular scholar you're curious about? Let us know in the comments!
Until then, please enjoy this exclusive picture of the entrance to the Atrium.
