Greetings, fellow gamers! We are a small team and we have a huge dream: Free Castle: Survival Store
Hello everyone!
We are a passionate group of 5-6 friends who grew up with games and spent countless sleepless nights at the keyboard. Today, with a mix of excitement and a bit of fear, we want to introduce you to our very first project: Free Castle: Survival Store.
It all started with a simple question: We've played countless post-apocalyptic survival games—but who runs the stores in those worlds? Who sells those canned beans?
And in our game, the answer is: YOU!

So, What Exactly Is Free Castle: Survival Store?
In its simplest form, our game is a post-apocalyptic store management simulator. But it’s much more than just stocking shelves. It’s a blend of survival chaos and oddly satisfying store-organizing sessions.
Here’s What a Day Might Look Like:
Loot and Return: Sneak into abandoned settlements, avoiding the cover of night and roaming zombies, collect valuable items, and return to your shop.
Stock and Bargain: Carefully arrange the goods you collect on your shelves, then bargain hard with stubborn survivors who visit your store. Every penny counts!

Defend the Store!: Made too much noise? Or is it just a bad night? You’ll have to defend your store against massive zombie hordes. Weapons, melee tools, and your own crafted traps will be your best allies.
Transparent Notes from the Development Process: Dreams and Realities
Developing a game, especially for a small team like ours, is a journey full of dreams, sacrifices, and tough decisions. We want to be completely honest with you during this journey.
One of our biggest dreams from the beginning was to let you drive a customizable car and smash through zombie hordes on those post-apocalyptic roads. We also wanted you to experience the oddly satisfying moments of scrubbing away blood and grime from your store’s walls since day one.
But as a 5-6 person team, we had to make a choice: Should we do everything halfway, or perfect the core mechanics? We chose the latter. We’ve poured all our energy into making the core loop of shop management, combat, and looting as solid and fun as possible.
That’s why we decided to postpone features like driving and detailed cleaning until we can implement them with the quality we envision.
But don’t worry! These features aren’t cancelled. On the contrary, they are at the top of our roadmap, and we’re looking forward to adding them with our first major updates! This is how the game will grow—with your support.

More Than Just a Shop, It’s a Castle
Your store is a refuge, a hub for survivors. So you should upgrade it. You can expand shelf capacity, build defense towers, add repair benches, and turn your store into a fortress with general upgrades.

Our Future Plans and Why We Need Your Support?
This game is a passion project for us and the first step into the 'Free Castle' universe. We’re not a big studio and we don’t have a multimillion-dollar marketing budget. Our biggest strength is the connection we build with players like you.
So, what are our future plans?
Co-op Mode: We imagine how fun it would be to run a shop, go looting, and hunt zombies together with your friends!
A Richer World: We want to add new zombie types and we are very confident that you've never seen zombies like these before. The way people got infected and the intiation of the infection is pretty unique when you compare with other universes. We will also add more NPCs, mysterious locations, and story-expanding missions. Oh, here’s some of our zombies…

Expanding the Free Castle Universe: This is just the beginning. Our biggest dream is to tell more stories and create new games set in this universe.
That’s why we’re here. To make these dreams come true, we need your feedback, ideas, and most importantly—your support.
If anything we said sounds interesting, please head over to our Steam page and add our game to your wishlist. That one simple click means more to small studios like us than you can imagine.
Also, join our Discord server! We share development updates in real time, listen to your ideas, and can’t wait to chat with you.
Thank you so much for reading this long post. We’re truly curious to hear what you think!
With love,
Skalacore Team
