Hey and welcome back!
Today we did a lot of bug testing and improved the Blender importer. Specifically we improved the loading code of the animations. As we are using COLLADA as file format and as Blender only exports the current animation we needed to find a way to export multiple animation in one model. For this we combined all animations in Blender into one animation and then exported the mesh. Then in our importer we cut the animations into pieces again and voila we have it. Here are screenshots of a fish we made for the game:
And we corrected the "non-shader" rendering mode. It hasn't worked anymore as we changed the way how we updated the screen. The new system checks whether for example it is necessary to clear the Z-buffer or not. This worked very well with the shader renderer but it didn't worked with the old renderer. It is now up to date and working again:
In this rendering mode the game can even run on old computers. If you have such a computer disable the shader check box in the configuration menu.
And then we changed the format of our vertex buffers. This will give us in the future support for advanced rendering methods. Specifically the game now generates the tangent space which is necessary for bump mapping / displacement mapping.
So that's it for today!
