Update #9 is now live!
This update introduces fully reworked garden beds, safer save handling, an improved laboratory cutscene, new drone skins, performance improvements, and an important fix for incorrect purchases in the Shop.
New
- Planters have been reworked. The models for all three materials, bioplastic, textile, and recycled materials, have been updated across all sizes, from 50×50 to 150×150, and all three border heights. Several previously missing variants have also been added.
- Starting a new game now asks for confirmation before overwriting your autosave. Previously, starting a new game would automatically overwrite the latest autosave with no way to recover it.
- The Laboratory cutscene has been completely reworked, along with improvements to the tables, hydroponics setup, and trophy wall inside the Laboratory.
Saves
- Incompatible saves are now hidden from the Load Game menu instead of appearing as unusable entries.
- The Create New Save flow can now be completed using a gamepad.
- Localized the save menu into all eleven supported languages.
Packages & Storage
- New games no longer start with a package full of food. Starting a new game also no longer carries over items left in the parcel locker from a previous game.
- Removed the "Move" option from package containers when there was nothing to move.
- Containers no longer remain as empty placeholders after their contents have been moved to the inventory. Item stacks are now correctly removed from storage.
Stability & Exiting the Game
- Fixed an issue that could leave the game process running in the background after the window had closed, causing Steam to continue displaying the player as in-game.
Drones
- Drones no longer get stuck on tasks or pull out plants instead of working with them.
- Fixed drone collision issues.
Plants & Garden Beds
- Fixed collision on the heater.
- Rebalanced how frequently unhealthy leaves appear.
- Improved performance in areas containing large numbers of plants.
Shop & Economy
- Fixed a serious issue that could charge players for the wrong item after scrolling through the Shop.
- Shop cards can now be selected correctly using gamepad focus. Previously, they could only be selected with a mouse.
- The Buy button now remains disabled until an item has been selected.
- Disabled the product card highlight animation.
- Fixed bugged gene modifiers in the Gene Lab.
- Fixed Shop prices calculated through the Preferred Customer perk.
- Fixed upgrades incorrectly requiring the wrong resource or an incorrect quantity.
- Made minor improvements to item cards in the Trading Hub.
UI, Quests & World
- Improved the Project Completion button to make its purpose clearer.
- Fixed pansies unlocking at the wrong level.
- Made several weather-related fixes.
- Fixed character rotation when changing skins.
- Updated the Conference quest to use the name Chili Pepper, matching the existing plant and seed names.
- Fixed an issue that could cause cat data to be replaced by Deluxe Pack data.
- Added additional safeguards to prevent asset ID conflicts. Compatibility with older saves is still being verified.
- Removed several old, unused interface elements, including the previous save screen and obsolete Encyclopedia widgets.
- The weather timeline now works as intended.
