Hedge Fund Manager is going to undergo a significant shift in direction: we’re making the game free. This change will roll out over the coming weeks.
Free players will have access to all features of the game, with one exception: short selling. To short stocks, you’ll need the new “Pro Trader” DLC. Everyone who has previously purchased the game will automatically receive the DLC when we transition.
The Pro Trader DLC will also work as a kind of supporter pack, since there’s no other monetization in the game.
Honestly, this is probably how we should have released the game from the start. It’s much more in line with the game’s philosophy: put everyone on equal footing, and make investing performance verifiable.
On the technical side, we’ll switch to the free version while the game is still in Early Access. After the free version has been running for a week or two without major issues, we’ll take the game out of Early Access.
