Hello everyone!
Before diving into today’s topic, a quick update: development on Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy is progressing smoothly. Week after week, new environments take shape, gameplay systems grow more refined, and the world we’re building becomes increasingly tangible. There’s still a road ahead, but what we’re seeing excites us, and today, we want to share something that goes deeper than features or mechanics.
The Sicily we created in Red Nun’s Legacy isn’t a postcard or a reconstruction. It’s the Sicily we’ve lived, breathed, and carried with us since childhood. Every corner of this world comes from a real place we’ve stood before. Every house echoes one we’ve visited. Every floor resembles one we walked barefoot as kids. Every mirror reflects someone we knew.
Sicily is a land where objects stay in families for generations, furniture, ceramics, cards, icons, fabrics, patterns. You’ll find many of them inside the game because each of us still has these pieces at home, or remembers them from our grandparents’ houses.
Remothered is a saga built on the importance of memory, so we started from our own memories and put them into this game. To celebrate this, we’ve created a special video: a visual journey through the real places, textures, and cultural details that shaped the world of Red Nun’s Legacy. You’ll see the interiors and exteriors of Palazzo Biscari, the colors and ceramics of Caltagirone, traditional Sicilian playing cards, the quiet presence of Mount Etna, and the folklore that breathes through everyday objects.
The abandoned noble villa at the foot of Mount Etna isn’t meant to be a documentary reconstruction. It’s our vision of a gothic Sicily, suspended between folklore and memory, beauty and decay, faith and superstition. A land where family history never disappears. Where religious imagery coexists with ancient fears. Where motherhood, trauma, guilt, and inheritance become horror itself. The setting is part of the story. And with this new video, you can finally see the real places that inspired it. While Italian horror remains the backbone of the project, Remothered has always conversed with the wider horror landscape. You’ll find echoes of classic survival horror, psychological storytelling, while exploring trauma, identity, and the blurred line between victim and monster.
But our goal is far beyond imitation. It’s reinterpretation, through the unique identity of Remothered. The nightmare is taking shape, and now, you’ve seen the land it was born from.
