In ver0.2.8, I've improved the visual quality of imported GLB stages, made dance playback smoother, and added safeguards to protect imported asset registrations.
■ Improved GLB Stage Rendering
I've improved how materials and lighting are handled in imported GLB stages.
More accurate materials: Improved glossiness, metallic surfaces, and colors.
Better transparency: Fixed transparency and double-sided material rendering.
Color correction: Reduced unwanted blue and purple tints.
Dynamic reflections: Avatars, VFX, and other elements can now appear in reflections on supported glossy floors.
Compatible GLB files can also provide recommended lighting and filter settings, as well as embedded lights and light beam effects.
■ Smoother Dance Playback
I've improved transitions between dance poses to reduce small jitters and sudden jumps in motion.
This helps create smoother dance performances during both playback and video export.
■ Improved Protection for Imported Assets
Imported asset registrations are no longer automatically lost when their original files are moved or deleted.
Missing files are listed when the app starts.
You can choose to keep or remove their registrations.
Restoring files to their original locations allows them to be loaded again on the next startup.
This makes it easier to manage imported assets without accidentally losing their registrations.
■ Timeline Usability Improvements
Particle clip duration: New particle clips automatically match the music length. Without music, the default remains 25 seconds.
Improved tooltips: All 13 buttons at the top of the timeline now show descriptions and available keyboard shortcuts when hovered over.
■ Other Improvements and Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where imported GLB stage animations would not resume after switching stages.
New external stages now use a default Y-axis rotation of 180°. Existing stage settings remain unchanged.
I'll continue improving VRM Dance Dream MV to make it easier and more enjoyable to create the MVs you envision.
