Hello everyone!
2025 is coming to an end, and it's time to start recapping. For our studio, this was undoubtedly the year of Static Dread!
We started working on the game back in 2024, but it was in January of this year that the first public playtests began. We developed and created the project together with you, which was incredibly fun! In August, the game was released on Steam for PC, Mac, and Steam Deck, and later also on major consoles.
So far, about 40,000 people have bought the game! Thank you so much for your support and participation. You are helping us make our dream come true and create interesting and exciting worlds.
We took a short break after The Lighthouse to decide what content we want to prepare for you in the next updates. We are planning Patch 1.2 for the end of the first quarter of 2026. We are preparing content updates related to character stories and endings. We hope to surprise you with some twists and turns to make it more interesting to return to the game and try new ways to play through it.
In the last months of 2025, our development team focused intensely on the next story in the Static Dread universe, and at the end of October, we announced Static Dread: The Submarine!
In October of this year, we finished working on the script. The story will cover the events that took place a few days before the events of The Lighthouse. In addition, we did a lot of work on finding the right visual style.
The submarine Ares, located in northern waters, took the full brunt of a powerful northern lights display that destroyed almost all the electronics in the Static Dread universe. The submarine crew must survive in difficult conditions, find their way back to their home port, and try not to lose their minds when confronted with ancient creatures rising from the ocean floor. If you missed it, don't forget to watch the trailer!
For the submarine, we decided to focus more on the characters, so now they are fully three-dimensional. They will always be in the same room with you and will help you survive and cope with the unknown.
In addition, we decided to expand the environment. Although all actions, as in the lighthouse, will be limited to the space of the submarine, you will have access to many different compartments.
We are currently preparing the first playtest, which is scheduled for early next year. Don't forget to sign up for it and add the game to your wishlist — it will help us a lot!
For the New Year holidays, we have prepared a discount on Static Dread: The Lighthouse, which starts today!
Thank you for being with us in 2025! We hope that next year will bring us more exciting stories from the Static Dread universe.
