Howdy, Rancherssssss!

In this edition of Ssssssslithering Digessssssst we want to announce the next version of the demo and some features that will be included. I already mentioned some of them last edition, but let's recap it a bit.

Longer Demo duration

We are increasing the amount of in-game days available in the demo to 15 in-game Days. This will allow players to experience more of Scaling Up, the mechanics and available expeditions in the game.

Research System

As part of the next version of the demo, we are adding part of the Research System together with the Viper Lab. Using this building and with the assistance of the Researcher Vipers, players will be able to unlock more Snakes and Buildings in the game. As we are still working on the Research mechanics, only a portion of this feature will be available in the demo, since we still need to work on all the Research nodes and features for the full game.

The Research System will be useful to upgrade the facilities, their capabilities and finding new Snake types in the game.

Ranch Expansion

Another feature recently developed that will be added in a new version of the demo is the Ranch Expansion! Players will be able to unlock the areas around the Ranch, getting more space to add more buildings. This will allow players to have more Snakes and buildings in their Ranch.

Temporary Save

We are working on a temporary Save File for the demo, so players can play the demo of Scaling Up to the final 15 in-game days in multiple play sessions, rather than a single play. Unfortunately the Save won't carry over to the final game as we are still working on content, adjusting how the save works and a lot of other systems in the game that will alter how saves work in the final version, so the Save File won't be the same.

Encyclopedia

The Encyclopedia is a feature in-game that will record Insects and Fishes collect during any playthrough. It is a system that is independent of the save, so it can record Insects and Fishes that are from different areas, saving them in the overall game.

Players can collect insects that appear on the screen in various places, each with their own rarity.
As for the fishes, the Dragon and the Snakes will automatically collect and record them while fishing. Some fishing rods may even help with completing the encyclopedia!
