Hey everyone! Jacob from dofhouse here.
We've been hard at work on the HUB Area and today we'd like to talk about some upcoming stuff!
HUB
For our next demo update, we're focusing on implementing the first iteration of a HUB Area in the form of SIDs Spaceship. Here you'll be able to spend some downtime, wind down and relax. The main idea behind this area is to let you take a pause from the action and be able to select previously visited areas from a terminal. It might be a bit empty for now, but we hope to implement more features as we go!
Since we're going for a metroidvania-esque design with AMICA, being able to teleport to previously visited areas with new equippment is something that we want to explore.
One of the things I'm most excited about is the ability to store all collectables at the ship. Like the "dofs" for example. After you've collected a dof, they'll teleport to your ship and roam around there freely. We'll most likely add more features in the future, but for now, this is our main focus for the Ship.
We could see the ship being used as a way to stay informed about lore, your current "mission" and a place to interact with future NPC's! Like Jessica-3 & Captain Tapirus :)
We're also polishing up the jungle with more decorative assets, lighting and more. And there are also bullet casings now!
That's pretty much it for now!
We hope to get this update out by late September / early October.
